Greg Abbott is an American attorney and politician who currently serves as the 48th Governor of Texas, a position he's held since January 2015. Born on November 13, 1957, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Abbott was a practicing lawyer before entering politics, serving as a state district judge, a justice of the Texas Supreme Court, and later as the Texas Attorney General. Known for advocating conservative policies, Abbott's governorship has been defined by issues such as immigration, health care, and gun rights. Despite using a wheelchair due to a tree falling on him while jogging in 1984, Abbott does not let his disability hinder his political pursuits as he continues to remain active in his role as Governor.
