The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest was a spectacular show and a testament to a year of hard work by so many people from so many countries. The live shows were world-class television productions with a thriller climax on Saturday night.
We understand the passions and emotions that are engendered by the Eurovision Song Contest. In light of this, we have taken notice of your petition and appreciate this opportunity to respond.
The winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest was decided by music industry professionals and you, viewers at home, each with a 50 percent stake in the result. Ukraine's Jamala won, thanks to broad support from both the juries as well as televoters. She did so with an outstanding performance of an emotional song, telling a personal story.
Australia's Dami Im won the jury vote. Sergey Lazarev won the televoting. They both deserve credit for their world-class performances, their great songs and for being magnanimous in defeat. They may not have won the contest, but responded to the outcome as winners. We respect and appreciate them for that.
The Eurovision Song Contest is a competition. There can only be one winner. We understand that not everyone agrees with the outcome of this year's Eurovision Song Contest however in a competition where the results are decided based on a subjective and often very personal opinions, there will always be people who do not agree. Regardless of this, the result remains valid by all means, in accordance with the rules as they were known to each participating broadcaster, each artist and each dedicated fan.
Ukraine is, and will remain, the winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Whether you agree or disagree, we call upon those who signed this petition to embrace the result, valid in accordance with the rules, and to continue a constructive dialogue about how to further strengthen and improve the Eurovision Song Contest.

After a wonderful night about overcoming differences and being united in music, the group who represented Iceland acted with great disrespect towards the atmosphere and the host country by holding Palestinian flags up during the live broadcast. After such a terrible display of contempt for Israel, we the undersigned request that Iceland is disqualified from entering next year's Eurovision. Read more

An Indian man is attacked on October 7th, 2017 by 3 white men, fights back in self-defense only after the threat to his life is escalated by kicks and punches, then is charged with First Degree Murder while his attackers go free.
This happened in Bratislava, Slovakia next to the U.S. and German Embassies.
Racially motivated attacks are not rare, and in this case, even though the Slovak judge and prosecution have the video footage and witness testimonies, the victim is still the one charged.
The Slovak people are shielded from the truth. The video shows one story <http://yt.vu/c/UC4EyFTDhl9BSH6JQVIjGiaA > but the news sells a different story.
By supporting this petition, you will not only give hope to this man, but you will give hope to his family that he will finally be freed and come home.
There is also hope that the Slovak courts will not continue to be swayed by racist public opinion and tabloids but lean toward true justice for victims of Hate Crimes.
There is also hope that the attackers will be held accountable for the Hate Crime they committed against this man.
I humbly urge you to support and share this petition to show this man and his family that they are not alone...that there is hope.
UPDATE: OCTOBER 15, 2018 Mr. Timothy received the verdict "Not Guilty" today and was sent home finally after 1 year and 1 week in custody. This is a major victory and we thank the Lord. The Prosecutor has appealed the decision so the case will go to the higher courts in Slovakia. Please keep sharing and supporting this petition as we prepare for the next trial.

2. The Parbulu land area of 40 ha has been planted with various kinds of plants since 1890, but the presence of PT Toba Pulp Lestari since 1986 has become a big problem and 20 ha of Parbulu's land and burial ground are walled by PT TPL. and the remaining Parbulu land is polluted and damaging the lives of residents.

We, the undersigned, believe that music is our shared language, one that transcends boundaries and brings people together under a common bond.
We believe that unifying events, such as singing competitions, are crucial to help bridge our cultural divides and bring people of all backgrounds together through their shared love of music.
The annual Eurovision Song Contest embodies this unifying power. Every year, millions of people across Europe, and around the world, join together in a massive display of cultural exchange and celebration of music.
Unfortunately, this year, the spirit of togetherness is under attack by those calling to boycott Eurovision 2019 because it is being held in Israel, subverting the spirit of the contest and turning it from a tool of unity into a weapon of division.
We believe the cultural boycott movement is an affront to both Palestinians and Israelis who are working to advance peace through compromise, exchange, and mutual recognition.
While we all may have differing opinions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the best path to peace, we all agree that a cultural boycott is not the answer.
We call on all our friends and colleagues around the world to express their support for an exciting and successful Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv.

Read more

I was a assaulted and kicked by a group of police officers and thus almost lost an eye on Saturday the 11th of August 2018 for taking pics of a police officer by the name Michael who assaulted me before the severe attack with his colleagues on and threatened him of posting his pictures on social media. They confiscated my phone and handcuffed me and thus kicked me in the abdomen and face. They demanded for the pics to be deleted for them to hide their identity. I know one of the Police officers that was present at the scene and she works at Katutura Police station. I opened a cased against Michael for perpetrating violence but the Police officers refused to help me. I explained everything to the station commander and later they agreed that I can open a case. I opened a case. Police officers are now threatening me on Facebook that my docket will be lost coz they will never investigate their colleagues for assaulting people. Some of these are officers that were present when I opened the case. I want the police to investigate this case urgently and help identify Michael, a member of the City police . Michael must apologize and compensate for the damages and misery he caused. I want the police to investigate and bring Michael to order. I want justice. We are tired of docket getting lost when it's police officers involved but they keep locking up taxi drivers each an everyday struggling to put bread on the table. I want JUSTICE.Read more

Eurovision 2020 has been announced as cancelled, for understandable reasons. The health and welfare of all involved has been considered and this does not go unappreciated.
However, 41 songs, delegations, artists and songwriters will not have their moment. They will not have their hard-earned spot in Eurovision history, that they rightfully earned.
It's not safe for us all to be together physically, but why can't we do it virtually? It's the 21st century. Let's move Eurovision to the internet and make it an online contest this year. Keep the spirits of the eurofans and creatives alive during these stressful times. As Duncan Laurence said "music first, always".Read more

On Wednesday 20th March 2019, two teenage Hindu sisters were abducted by unknown men as the local Hindu community celebrated the festival of Holi.
14 year old Reena Kumari & 16 year old Raveena Kumari were abducted from the town of Daharki in Pakistan’s southern province of Sindh. Daherki Distt. The local Hindu population of the district took to the streets and blocked the local highway protesting the abduction. The girls family claimed that the that sisters had been abducted by people from the Kohbar and Malik tribes on the eve of Holi.
Police refused to help Hindu persons protesting the abduction. Family approached the police to lodge a first information report (FIR) but all in vain.
The incident took a strange turn after a video uploaded on social media appeared to show the girls converting to Islam.
Their expressions clearly speaks how much they are afraid and oppressed by those religous fanatics. The sisters appear to be visibly distressed in the video and rights activists have claimed that this is another case of forced conversion and abduction, which are becoming increasingly common in the southern region of Sindh.
It was not free will and the girls were in fact kidnapped and forcibly converted.
It's so devasting to write about forced conversions of minor Hindu daughters of Pakistan. I often think how one can be so cruel and oppressive against people belong to other Religons OR school of thought.
This is what happening with Religious minorities, this is how Pakistanis surprise minorities on their religious festives.
It's my appeal to everyone who is against oppression and injustice, raise voices for these daughters of Pakistan and Save Humanity. Stop Forced ConversionRead more
