The Conservative Party of Canada is a major right-leaning political party in Canada that advocates for principles of conservatism such as free markets, small government, and traditional social values. Founded in 2003, it is the successor to various right-wing parties that have existed in Canada. Its policies generally focus on economic liberalism, fiscal conservatism and a commitment to the concept of a federal framework for the Canadian federation. It is one of the two largest parties in Canada, alongside the Liberal Party, and has produced two prime ministers since its inception: Stephen Harper (2006-2015) and Erin O'Toole (2020-).
