Change the Age of Consent

This is important to me because I was sexually assaulted In October 2014, I was 16 years old when the assault took place, and alone with a man my family trusted. They cannot prove non-consent due to a lack of witnesses, therefore the case is now a he-said/she-said situation, and the perpetrator did not get charged. After the traumatic event I now suffer with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder The law currently states that there is a close-of-age exemption for people 13-15 years of age, that teens at 15 years of age may have sexual relations with people up to 5 years older than them. The law at the moment for any-age consent is at 16. I am sending letters to the PM Justin Trudeau, and others to take action towards changing the any-age consent law to 18. And implementing a close-of-age exemption for 16-18 year olds to consent to sexual relations within 10 years of age. If 16 & 17 year olds are not allowed to vote, drink, or smoke what makes the government think they are old enough to hold their own during a sexual advance by an adult male (or female) that could be over twice their age? I would really appreciate everyone to sign my petition as this is extremely important to me.
