How is there not enough room? The high school was built for a WAY bigger population than current enrollment. There are whole wings of the school that are underutilized. And I hear they want to move DYC to Capen? An abandoned school on the other side of town? What an insult to the legacy of Rob Blaney and the hardworking staff at the DYC.
The kids deserve better! I participated in multiple summer programs with DYC in middle and high school, and the central location worked well.

As a former employee with the DYC I can speak about its importance. The benefits for the Youth of Dedham are endless. From counseling to mentoring to a friendly face in the hallway to brighten a students day. Having them at the High School is a no brainer. We worked out of Town Hall and I always thought being on the schools would be the most beneficial to the youth of Dedham. Please share with everyone to sign this petition and keep this valuable resource where it belongs.

The Colorado Youth Advisory Council has been an organization that is crucial to provide the youth voice and representation needed in state government. The council has gone onto work on so many initiatives including those that make state services such as Safe2Tell more accessible to youth populations. It is through this organization that I had the honor to help with a policy proposal that Senator Winter’s picked up that is related to decreasing the number of youth overdoses in Colorado. COYAC has gone onto truly inspire the next generation of public servants and it is very important that WE DO NOT implement any budget cuts to the group.

We must, give youth a platform to express themselves and their peers, and work for the better good of all youth. COYAC cultivated my passion and allowed me to be heard. My proudest accomplishments has been those created by this opportunity and this should be allowed to youth across the state. Youth are often forgotten in conversations at the state level, but COYAC ensures that youth voice is not only listened to, but valued. This needs to be fully funded. It has changed my life, and I know countless others who were supported in the same way.

If we don't keep what family values are left in today's world intact; our society will continue to rot. Children need the nurturing of loved ones not the forced bandaid of separation. Being taken from true family sites the child that they do not matter. This alone will cause them more trauma that will continue on to future generations.
