Expanding free legal aid to immigrants in San Antonio is crucial because it embodies the values of compassion and justice that define our community. Many immigrants, often facing language barriers and limited resources, find themselves navigating a complex legal system without proper support. By providing free legal assistance, we can help ensure that these individuals have access to their rights and the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their families. Every person deserves the chance to be heard and to seek protection from unjust policies or exploitative situations. Investing in legal aid not only uplifts immigrants but strengthens our society as a whole, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect among all residents.
As an immigrant this hurts to see what is happening to our community and I try to support as much as I can, hoping for a better days ahead of us. Let's raise our voice.
I’m in chefs culinary club and I always admired her work. She taught me so many skills and inspired me to become a better cook and to never give up but most importantly she’s a friend. She always made me feel welcome and showed me that culinary was more than just about making food but about sharing, love, and connection with others. I truly have never met a person like her before and there are no words to describe how chef has helped so many kids at the school, she’s so much more than a teacher to us. Please don’t fire her, she more than deserves this job.
A culinary program at BHS is good but Chef Lauren made the program enjoyable and arguably one of the best classes presented at barrington high school. Not only is she a teacher at barrington she’s also a huge part of the community and honestly anyone can consider her as a friend. She is one of the most understanding teachers here at barrington. Chef Lauren has made endless sacrifices for this school and her community and it would be a mistake to get rid of her. I personally don’t know any teacher that would go out of their way to make sure that a kid can thrive in an environment if they saw even the slightest bit potential, but chef lauren did. Regularly looking at culinary as a career choice wasn’t something that was on a lot of people’s mind. After personally going through 2 of her culinary classes has made me look at the career in a whole different perspective. Regardless if she was a teacher in any other subject Im absolutely sure she would do the same because that’s how dedicated she is to help people and to make the community a better place. Getting rid of her would lose a huge part of the culinary community and in general. Please take this into account.
Chef not only has an incredibly patient demeanor with her students, but she makes classes fun due to her true love for the class, students, and valuing their education. I would have never continued my culinary career without chef as my teacher in intro to culinary, making me fall in love and find fun in learning new things through cooking and baking.
Chef Lauren is not only a teacher here, she’s more than that to us. Chef lauren is a very important person to every individual here. She’s just like a friend to all of us. To get rid of her is to throw away years of progress. There will never be another person like her. She’s helped too many people find happiness and meaning in the form of cooking to just get rid of her now.
I was in chefs class for four years with my time in barrington. my time with her made me learn skills I have carried in my life even to this day. chef Lauren was more than a teacher she was a friend even if it wasn’t class related if you needed to talk or just a shoulder to cry on she was there. A termination of her from this job would be an attack on her but as well as any student that has ever been in her class including future students as well. You would be robbing young students of lifelong skills and experiences you learn in chef Lauren’s classroom. Chef has been a active member in the barrington community losing her would be a negative blow to not only your schools curriculum but our community as well please take this into consideration when the decision is made sincerely Kenneth stroud
Chef Lauren is more than just a teacher. Not only is she an incredible teacher, she has made so many students fall in love with cooking, and being in her classroom. The environment is so uplifting and always a joy to be in. Chef has created so many fun activities for us, and if it weren’t for her I would’ve never taken culinary for the past 3 years. Getting rid of her would be a huge mistake. Thank you.
I took Culinary with Chef Lauren Sophomore Year. I then proceeded to take Advanced Culinary because of her. If it wasn’t for her and her class, I wouldn’t have met one of my best friends, Amanda, and it wouldn’t have sparked my interest in the Culinary world. She’s so so nice and has made such an impact on not just me, but many more. Chef’s not just someone you can replace. Let Chef Lauren return to BHS, please. If you don’t believe me, just look at all the action that’s being taken to bring her back.
