Having the flexibility to work from home decreases lost time due to bad weather and sickness, plus it helps those with caregiver roles manage their schedules better. It's a matter of safety, health, and work-life balance. We have all of this connectivity in place, let's keep using to the benefit all State employees!
Being able to work remotely is a big part of why I’m able to live in Indiana and spend money at Indiana businesses. In 2025 there is no need to mandate in-office work for positions that do not require it; this policy hurts Indiana’s ability to innovate and attract talent that would prefer to work from home.
State employees were offered remote work as an incentive to keep staff while not raising salaries. Now state employees don’t get raises while they’re losing benefits.
My mom has severe driving anxiety from almost dying on the way home from work 30 years ago and losing my sister 5 years ago to a drunk driver. She hardly leaves the house as is and working from home allows her to connect with people so she still has human interaction. she needs remote work
My wife is leaving the DOC due to the lack of investment and impact removing remote work days has on us financially. Unfortunately, she loved her job and work there. It's a shame and I expect they will lose many more great, well trained, educated, assets within the DOC due to the actions of Mike Braun and the administration. Training, onboarding and getting up to speed new employees to replace those employees who have the talent and skills to take elsewhere will likely outway and shortlisted cuts. Lastly, the lack of communication or impact analysis from this administration shows just how little they respect and understand the important work done by the DOC.
Requiring state workers to work in the office removes the opportunity for rural Hoosiers to serve at the state level and ensures that state jobs will continue to be held by those who live in the Metropolitan areas. Please reverse the remote work policy to allow opportunities for all hoosiers to be public servants.
Please reconsider the decision to end remote work. It enhances productivity, saves me $450/month in daycare and gas, and reduces traffic and pollution. A fair evaluation of remote vs. in-office productivity is crucial. Without remote work, my entire earnings will go to mortgage, gas, daycare, and other costs, leaving no financial flexibility.
