Sadly this year has been the worst for anti-social behaviour, with fireworks being set off during the day near horses and dog park as well as thrown at passing cars and young families trick or treating . Dog owners can’t even walk their dogs during the day and no one is policing it 😡

I fully condemn the cruelty and heartlessness necessary for any human being to consider the Sloth a pet. This wonderful animal must be terrified. A solitary animal now forced to be picked and poked by an entire household. PLEASE examine a Sloths natural environment and appreciate how cruel this is.

I live in Chapel lane which as a flood issue due to poor drainage to the culverts. We have had multiple meeting with councils to get this sorted but to no end. We nearly got flooded again on New Year’s Day if it wasn’t for the quick action of our neighbours. Surely adding more houses to the surrounding areas will just compound the issue as the water will have no where to run off to as builders are NOT responsible for ensuring correct drainage systems are put in place & councils don’t care!

A quick search on Rightmove shows 125 houses for sale today within one mile of Longton. These houses are not needed. There are plenty of brown field sites to develop such as factory lane in Penwortham which improve the existing area not destroy it. Removing green belt ruins the area for residents who already live there to provide housing for people from outside of the area. Once the green belt has gone, it's gone. There's no way back.

Our green areas are rapidly decreasing, creating an imbalance to the infrastructure. Trees drink lots of water - so taking them away leaves a threat of flooding. I understand removal of dead wood but houses on a flood plain makes no sense!!

Aside from the obvious reasons why they're hazardous to both animals and people, the fireworks available to the public are absolute rubbish to begin with. There are plenty of fireworks displays across the country and they're easy to attend. It's more of an event to go somewhere with friends and family, make some memories and join others who enjoy a display. Stopping the public from purchasing fireworks will not only hugely reduce the amount of dogs affected, but it will also stop kids (and some adults who should know better) from being morons and setting them off in the streets. You always see empty casings scattered around in parks too. Removing them from shops will really help those poor pups who have strong negative reactions to loud noises. Dogs have emotions, same as children. You wouldn't force a child to endure fireworks, if they didn't enjoy them. So why would you do the same to animals who feel things? It's about time people started thinking beyond themselves.
