MAIN POINT OF OBJECTION needs to be the original city plans for this area as Single family homes, This is zoned for single family and should be the main reason as to why this should NOT be changed to the multi family. Everyone here purchased their single family home in this area because it was zoned single family homes, City council should not be changing the zoning for this well developed community. This would not benefit the area whatsoever.

This area is already struggling with a ridiculous amount of traffic and a severe lack of roadways to handle it. Maybe city council should try to drive from this area in to town during the morning commute. The city needs to start planning infrastructure well ahead of any housing developments. With all of the condos going in at the Ponds, I think we’ve had our fair share of over development until such time as the city can greatly improve the roadways to get us all in and out of our neighbourhood. Plus, we all bought knowing this area is zoned for single family homes so, unless the city would like to compensate us all, leave the zoning as is.

I lived in this neighborhood for 12 years and I firmly believe that putting that many homes, cars, and people in such a small and limited access area would be very detrimental to the neighborhood

The traffic is already so heavy in this area. Trying to get out of the Upper Mission when there is a forest fire, is already bad enough. Would hate for a tragedy to occur because people couldn't escape the fires because of the traffic gridlock.

We all barely made it out of this area in the 2003 fire. The density has already multiplied since then but adding this many units reduces all our chances of a quick and safe exit.

I have lived on the Island my whole life and watched the Broom take over. It has always been worrisome but now that fires are a year occurrence it is crucial that it be removed. Now is the time! Hire high school and university students to remove it.
Linda supported: Protect BC’s Ecosystems: Remove Invasive Scotch Broom Now!
I’ve only lived on the South Island for 4 years now and have watched this very invasive species take over large tracks. Up to Sooke and over to the Hartland landfill broom is now a dominant plant. We cannot wait a few years, we need action now before its way too late.

Lost everything at east trout and if candle ignites my farm is only 25km straight through bush away! My kids had to evacuate from Christopher lake area last night and my husband is working in laronge with ash falling on them and uncertain if highway 2 will be open for him to come home tomorrow! That’s 4 different fires effecting me and my family!!!

Worried about the planning process for wildfires. East trout lake, we lost our cabin and 53 other structures. Images show a bridge was burnt down as only access to east trout. HOW was this ONLY means of access allowed to burn? Unorganized pre planning would point fingers to whomever was leading this. Disappointing to say the least. No call for a state of emergency by government. WHY? NO fire trucks dispatched WHY.? Does only the squeaky wheel get the grease in society now???? Us taxpayers demand answers

We live in a danger area. My husband has been having to put himself in danger to help protect our home and those of our neighbors every night this week. Our fire departments are stretched so thin right now, the Shoe/camp fire is engulfing and devouring everything in it's path. Living in the constant fear of is this the day that embers land in our yard and take our home, or if we will need to rush home to help our neighbors move their cattle out of danger is exhausting.
