I had a situation with Hamilton CAS and I because a foster parent through a situation at work and they couldn’t find a place for this child so they asked if I could let the child stay with me until I they found someone. We wanted to let see if we could be a foster parent but they said it wouldn’t be possible. Anyways they did find the child a home and wouldn’t let us see the child for over a year after having this child for over 5 months. Finally see the child to find out their was issues all along and the promises of CAS saying they this child would be better off in care to get the support that this child needed but that didn’t happen at all. To find out later that this child was being molested by the husband. Great fostering parents that they have. When this child was happy and all that we needed to do was become foster parents with them so this child could stay in a good home. But then the CAS worker we had said we were not good for this child due to we didn’t know how to take care of her because of the child’s issues. But they just gave this child more issues. Also they left this child in the home for over a couple of months even when this child finally reach out to the worker to tell the worker what was going on. They didn’t believe this child and so this child had to video taped him abusing this child then sent it to the worker and finally was removed from the home. How terrible is that. Now has no foster family and in a group home. They say the child’s to old now for a foster family so has to be in a group home. This is beyond disgusting, ridiculous and unacceptable. This poor child came in CAS having issues and now was more issues that were caused by them. They take children away from good people to give to people that abuse mental, physical, emotional and sexually them and treat them bad. It’s organization needs to be shut down and we need to build a organization that actually is for the greater good of children. This organization has done terrible for many. Many decades and we need to put a stop to this organization.

I had a situation with CAS somewhat similar to the writer, about 30 yrs ago. This left my son & I very vulnerable to my predator ex (also my son's father). Their patriarchal approach to me led to chaos for my son & I. I am an Occupational therapist by training (nor retired). I would also NOT recommend CAS to any parent, since they as if they sound as the same negligent organization that I encountered many years ago. I call it total lack of accountability to the govt & caring parents.
