Admins are worried about the wrong thing. There is many more issues with other staff who isn’t properly fit for there job n yet they want to take one of the FEW teachers that actually help students out not only in school but mentally as well. Mr.Griffen has been with the school for 10 years and in those years it was perfectly fine n is so now aswell. There’s students out there who doesn’t feel as if there home is a home but Mr.Griffen helps them and not only that but gives them a proper education. There are so many more staff that need to learn from him n these admins want to take that away.
Mr. Griffin is an amazing teacher, always welcoming to students with a warm smile. I don’t understand why they need to fire him. I honestly think there are worse teachers in this school the administration isn’t looking into, and Mr. Griffin isn’t one of those teachers. School is supposed to be a learning environment, were students can have bonds with teachers that want them to accelerate in everyday learning.
Mr griffin is actually one of the few BEST teachers in West Mesquite High School. I say mr griffin is more than a teacher here at WMHS. He cared for his students well being such as physical and mentally. A lot of students find his classroom as a safe place and not many teachers can say that. I have had Mr griffin this year and last year, he loves what he does and you can tell he do. He is not only there for the money but because he loves working with his students and teaching us a lot of new things. Mr griffin has served a lot of years at WMHS, i know he has brought joy to many kids and he really does care about us his students. If Mr griffin gets fired i honestly dont see any other teacher making learning fun because thats what makes us want to learn more . Teachers like him are the reason students show up to school.
Mr Griffin is a GREAT teacher. He taught me things I would actually need in the real world. The problem with this system is that you guys think school is the only thing that’s gonna help you survive out in the real world. NO. You guys need to be realistic! There’s teachers who focus more on grades than their students mental health! Mr Griffin focuses on both. If you guys fire Mr Griffin you’re proving that a number in a system is more important than the mind & heart of a growing teenager. KEEP TEACHERS THAT BUILD BONDS WITH THEIR STUDENTS. Not resentment for overwhelming them with so much work! We have lives too. And Mr Griffin was AMAZING at understanding that!
I’ve had Mr.Griffin when I went to west, he was so kind and allowed everyone to feel included. He’s been one of my favorite teachers and I’ve always looked forward to coming to his class despite not wanting to go to school.
I honestly don't understand how he would get fired as he's one of the best teachers. Unlike most he actually cares and tries to help students and even if they aren't his kids he's extremely welcoming. I could write a essay on why he should keep his job but if he gets fired I have no trust in the school.
This teacher is making an impact. MISD should employ more teachers like him, teachers who teach and makes it fun to learn!
Instead, they keep these crap teachers that hand students a textbook or an online assignment and expect them to teach themselves. This is disappointing on so many levels. As an MISD parent, I’m disappointed and angry this educator is not being treated with the respect he deserves.
I never had him but every person i’ve ever heard talk about him talked about how kind he was and excited they were to even be in his class. West Mesquite surely complains about attendance and skipping yet is actively trying to fire a teacher who is a reason why kids actually want to be in class? Make it make sense!
This is unjust and immature, the motives behind this alteration. It is not fair to strip their livelihood from right under them, especially when they've helped shape and/or change various young lives for the better. At the end of the day, that is what FLP is all about. We are using the "L" in 'FLP' to advocate for those whose voices are rendered unheard by the superior. Reinstate Jazmine and Rosie!
Jasmine and Rosie were the heart and soul of the program, dedicating themselves to its success and the well-being of everyone involved. Their unwavering commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment made the program a place where people felt valued and inspired. They didn’t just organize activities—they poured their hearts into making sure every detail was meaningful and impactful. Jasmine and Rosie’s kindness and thoughtfulness were unmatched; they were always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, and words of encouragement when it mattered most. Losing them feels like losing the foundation of what made the program special, and their absence leaves a void that cannot easily be filled. They deserved so much better than this.
