Mr. Lee was definitely the best. I can remember so many times him telling me Miss. Wagner get to class, or what’s wrong you look a little down today, or just joking with me to make me smile. I’m class of 2008 from Freedom high school and he definitely inspired us and was a person we could lean on to have conversations and get our feeling out. No matter what kind of day we were having, he had a way of lifting your spirit. His smile lit up the room when he walked in and you knew he was serious but also liked to joke around. I will never forget the memories I have with him at freedom high school from 2005-2008 he was the best mentor I ever had. And he will forever be missed.
Mr.Lee’s presence was powerful, it was not only his words but his demeanor and attitude that the students, as well as myself, loved. Mr. Lee wasn’t just a coach, he wasn’t just a security guard, he was a man. A man who made thousands of students feel safe, a man who made thousands of us feel heard. He contributed to the community in such small ways that accumulated over time. He not only looked out for us, he respected us as people. He respected our emotions, our choices, Mr. Lee gave the students at freedom a chance that many other adults didn’t. He gave us all the chance to feel loved, heard, and valued, even if it was minimal. Mr. Lee didn’t care that the study body as a whole was labeled uncouth, destructive, uncaring and disobedient. Mr. Lee was loved just as much as he loved us. I hope he’s resting easy, knowing the impact he’s made on generations of kids. Fly high Mr. Lee. 🕊️❤️🩹
Mr. Lee was more than just a security guard. He was a protector, a mentor, and a beloved member of our school community that would always bring a smile to our face. He dedicated himself to keeping students safe, offering guidance, and always showing support for everyone on campus. Renaming the football field in his honor would be a meaningful way to recognize his lasting impact and ensure his legacy lives on. Rest in peace Mr. Lee ❤️🕊️
Mr. Lee was the most genuine person I knew he didn’t do anything because he had to be wanted to do everything he did he had a relationship with everyone you could walk up to Mr Lee any time of the day no matter what mood you were in he would make you smile it’s only right we can pay a great homage to him by naming the field in his honor
when i hear that Mr. Lee passed on Tuesday, i was sad and crying cause Mr. Lee is like family to me and he always have a joyful spirit and i love him like a grandpa and he was nice and fun to be around
Mr. Lee had a profound influence on each students life, he was an excellent leader, a motivator, and a genuine individual who always wanted what was best for everyone. He was always there for every student, and wanted to hear their stories to make sure they were heard and understood so he could help to the best he possibly could. Freedom High School wouldn't be Freedom High School without him, therefore he does deserve this recognition.
When I heard of Vernon Lee’s passing I was in total disbelief. I worked with Vernon and his smile and laughter is what will help me to never to forget about him. So, in honor of Vernon, whose passion and dedication to everyone he inspired I wholeheartedly support the renaming of the football field to commemorate his legacy. May this tribute serve as a lasting reminder of his spirit, leadership, and love for everyone.
I was devastated when I heard about this tragedy. I knew him since I was a baby since my mom was a bus driver he used to come on there and hang out those memories I will keep forever he was the best friend you could ever ask for! We love you 😊
