This coach stood up to what was right. My son was a product of this school and community. Please reinstate Coach P
David supported: Reinstate Gerard Pannoni as Football Head Coach at South CountyI wasn't on the team for long, but Coach P (among other coaches) let me become the first girl at South County to join the team. They let me decide cornerback was where I wanted to be. He never once made me feel like I didn't belong or like he didn't believe in me. He made me feel like my experience was as normal, valid, and important as any of the boys. This was many years ago now, but I imagine he's held true to that underlying moral and learned even more over the years. He didn't deserve such a public and abrupt dismissal.

That’s what parents have been drilling in to our kids since they could talk. Speaking truth to power cannot be met with retribution. The community deserves transparency at all levels on this.

He has made them better men who work hard, upholds great values, and are positive influences to young men they hang around. Coach P doesn’t just care about winning. He develops players. He continues to ask about my son who graduated and pushes my younger one to be better. He’s a great example of community and brings a great spirit for his players to achieve. Bring him back!

Ahead of his time at South County, he had a ton of respect from students, athletes and staff at West Springfield where he was involved in the football, swim and baseball programs, in addition to being a teacher. I enjoyed Pannoni’s class so much that I signed up to be a teacher aid for him my senior year. It would be a shame if he is removed from doing what he does so well!

He has dedicated almost every second of his time to helping south county and also has helped out in the community a lot. He has been there for players when they are going through rough times and has always wanted to help them through it. Overall, Coach Pannoni should definitely be reinstated as the Head Coach of South County.

His office was a safe haven for me in school and I know I am not the only one. He taught and coached my brother in the early 2000's, taught me in 2012, and my sister in 2013. He is a FCPS legend and does not deserve this treatment when he was doing nothing but advocating for the people he cares about - the kids.

Reinforcing what is being taught at home. My son is a good example of a teacher who cares. In Fairfax County Public Schools some teachers aren’t allowed or even teach the way we were taught years ago. They just don’t care and it’s just a paycheck. Anyone involved should be held accountable starting with Reid, down to South County’s Principal. What ever kicked back that she has received from this entire ordeal will be brought to light! But yet she speaks about transparency and getting to the bottom of this disgraced mess. What do I tell my son? Our voice should matter against corruption!!!

The impact that Mr Pannoni has on the community cannot be understated. He has made me stronger, healthier, and has improved my work ethic during Personal Fitness. He has devoted time and effort towards instructing class and coaching football, and his passion cannot be overlooked. He deserves to be reinstated to his positions, for he has changed multiple lives, embodying a true stallion.
