My kids do not consistently have access to swimming facilities all year long. Swimming is a skill that should be learned for all, not just for leisure, but for mental health and for their future!
Would love to see a pool here! It’s crazy that we are surrounded by lakes yet we have to drive up to 2 hours for our children to be taught how to swim by a certified instructor!
People in 100 Mile DO want and need a pool. If the vote included the outlying areas, it would be obvious to everyone. No one is asking the small community to absorb the cost. We are asking for the people who will use it to have a say! This reaches farther than a pool… taxation without representation! The outlying areas pay for libraries and schools and hockey rinks, why not a pool they really want!?
We need this pool!! I had a total knee replacement last year and it would have been wonderful to have a pool to help with the excersise.Who can afford to go to William's Lake all the time!! It's time Hundred Mile!! I would go all the time for water aerobics!
I grew up in 100 Mile House and oh how my siblings, friends and I all wished that 100 Mile had a pool as there is nothing for families and children to do recreational wise. Only allowing teens of the town to then get bored and get into town mischief. So yes, even though I may not live in 100 Mile anymore ( still have relatives there) I will more than happily sign this petition.
It's undeniable that town and outlying population is growing. I live in Forest Grove and would happily pay more in taxes if we had a local pool for my children to enjoy without needing to travel an hour. Lakes aren't year round and also not suitable for everyone.
