Do they really want us to free bleed everywhere. Countless times I have started my period in school or work and I don't have 75¢ in quarters only. It's phycotic to charge a women for something they are not in control off. It's not fair to women that we have to worry about heavy metals near such a pressuous organ. Women's rights matter. Women's health's matter. Periods matter.
as someone who has graduated from Edwardsburg recently. I can’t tell you how many times me or one of my friends would have to walk all the way down to the nurse just to go get a feminine hygiene product. when we were supposed to have them in a machine in the bathroom, but if they were never full or they were so old That nobody felt safe using them. half the time the nurse would run out of said hygiene products because, of how many people would have to come ask her one it’s embarrassing to walk all the way up there just to ask for a pad or a tampon. God forbid you ask your teacher in front of all of your classmates. That’s a whole Nother level of embarrassment.
Girls have to go to the upper office for EMS for feminine hygiene products which can be embarrassing to themselves. Femine products should be in the bathrooms to save girls from embarrassment.
As a father of two daughters I agree with the petition and think it is foolish that the feminine products are not readily available in the bathroom. Why does the school nurse need to know every time a girl starts her cycle and for sure they shouldn't have to do the walk of shame
Our kids shouldn’t have to worry about their bathroom issues in school, they should be provided assistance just incase they have a Heaven flow day or forget to bring their feminine items to the restroom as most young ladies in school do or are to scared to walk down the halls with the items in fear of others seeing them
Many times girls walk into the bathroom and realize they have started their period. Most of them have to text a friend to get them a tampon which is bad because most schools have a no phone policy, or they have to walk to their locker or backpack and grab one while they are bleeding thru. This makes them take so much longer and girls can teachers can get mad
Our school should support the females in the building with FREE tampons and pads in the girl’s bathroom. There are tampon machines in the girl’s bathroom that do not work and cost money. No girl carries around change on her, let alone has the pockets to carry change. There are also, to my knowledge, no feminine products in the machine. Why have a feminine product machine for girls in need with nothing in there? Yes, there are tampons and pads in the nurses office but the changes that a girl has already bled through her pants are high. No girl wants to walk across the school to get a tampon or pad with a blood stain. It’s embarrassing for girls. This whole situation is embarrassing and needs to be fixed. I hope this petition does what is right.
I had the misfortune of being one of her patients due to chronic pelvic pain and periods. She REFUSED to believe I had a gynecological issue, referred me to other specialists who ALL disagreed with her, reluctantly performed a laparoscopic and said “I was normal” and FAILED to diagnose my adenomyosis and endometriosis. She said I was just seeking attention, overweight, seeking parental validation and “too busy” to guess what was wrong with me. She should NOT be speaking about
This is disgraceful for such a well respected institution to be perpetuating such dangerous misinformation. When I had periods bad enough to have fainting and nausea, it was because I was dangerously low on iron and my body couldn't handle losing anymore of it. It is most definitely not normal symptoms of a regular period, and is a sign that something is very wrong with the body. You don't need a medical degree to know that, and the fact that someone who does have one is spreading such lies is shameful.
