It’s getting harder to not have things available in person. Being able to shop in person and not lose local stores matters. It creates a void for crafters. Please keep this store open. We are losing choices because the biggest retailer out there is Amazon and it’s pushing others out. I want The choice to be able to buy in person without driving 40 to 60 minutes. People want classes and or the chance to Discover something new in store while getting the things they want and Know and you can’t get that online. I hope this petition will help make a difference.
I depend on Joann stores to keep my treat business running. If they close these stores I will have to travel 30-40 mins away to buy my materials. PLEASE LET US KEEP THIS STORE🙏🙏🙏!!
JoAnn’s has always been an essential part of my crafting journey — helping me with 4-H projects as a child all the way to quilting, crocheting, and prop-making as an adult. In a city obsessed with monetizing creativity, having a place like JoAnn’s to learn and pursue new hobbies simply for the fun of it is more important now than ever. Please keep this essential community hub open!
Joann's is needed in this community. I learned to sew there when I was 10, a skill I've used ever since. No other store in the area has the selection Joann's has for fabric or yarn. We need this store to keep our traditions alive and to continue to have access to the craft supplies we need for our hobbies and businesses.
This Joann’s is the closest craft store to my house and absolutely my preferred one. Hobby Lobby is not for me and Michael’s just doesn’t have the same selection of fabric and supplies for fiber crafting, which are the things I use it for the most. It always seems busy when I’m there and the employees are so kind and caring. I’ve made friends shopping here. Please don’t take away the best brick and mortar craft store in the area.
This Joann’s is centrally located and is essential to the entertainment industry. It is close to multiple studio locations and a convenient option when it is difficult to go downtown for supplies. They are huge and well-stocked and have been an invaluable asset in my creative career growth. Please don’t close this location!
As an avid knitter who is also unemployed, Joanns has been key to my ability to afford my craft that brings me comfort and community. The workers there are helpful and desperately need this job in this current economy, and as someone who worked at Aaron Brothers and lost my job when it shut down, I don't want to see this happen to them.

The most vital part of the garment district is the ability for so many textile stores, theaters, designer studios, and garment makers to exist in such close proximity to each other. It is now the only place in the entire nation where this is the case, and should be highly prized for this now unique scenario. This sector employs so many people who are vital to the live performance and motion picture industries, and it will be completely hobbled if these business suddenly have to spread out over the boroughs to fight for survival.
