Women and girls are not objects. We are people. We deserve to be treated as such, and not be held to higher standards dress-code wise than boys. Don't restrict girls, teach men.
Lifting the ban on electronics in Mesa Verde is essential! Embracing technology would significantly improve communication and provide invaluable resources for students. Many teenagers depend on these tools for daily check-ins, addressing health concerns, and responding to family emergencies. In urgent situations, timely reactions can determine the course of their futures. For many teens, phones are integral to their identities and serve as a vital form of self-expression. They deserve some autonomy when it comes to this issue. With so many pressing challenges in education, restricting students' access to their devices is not the solution. Educators frequently use their phones during the school day; why should students be treated differently? Furthermore, banning headphones crosses the line. They are essential for numerous assignments and activities, and playing audio out loud would undoubtedly disrupt the class and create distractions. Instead of imposing limitations, let’s enhance the learning environment by allowing technology to play a role in education.
I don’t understand why they took away the ability to use electronics during lunch and such.
Yes, kids were using in the restrooms to get their parents to pick them up. However, it’s their fault and their parents that they didn’t check in with the school.
The school should be emailing the parents about the issue. Besides, kids may still lie and bring their phones to use in the restrooms.
Also, many kids wish to take photos with their friends and such for memories, and many kids are too busy afterschool or on weekends to hang out in order to do so.
Electronics were allowed until 2024-2025, why is that?
Parents also tend to want to check in on their kids, and now kids cannot respond to texts.
It’s also harder to get and give numbers; it’s no longer just typing it in, it’s writing on a piece of paper. Handwriting can be messy, and papers can be lost.
Find other ways to prevent your issues, don’t take away the kids permission to use devices that will keep them in contact with their parents, make sure parents know their kid is safe, keep kids entertained, and make them feel more comforted. (Being able to contact their parents or emergency services in case something happens.)
Thank you for reading this. I hope you lift this ban, or at least ease it, Mesa Verse Middle School.
