Indigenous kānaka voices matter! No more desecration on sacred ʻāina. Return the land back to her rightful stewards! We are not against science, we are against desecration! ʻAʻOLE TMT!
As a multi-ethnic Kanaka makuahine [Hawaiian mother] raised by maternal and paternal Hawaiians on Oʻahu, I speak on behalf of my deceased Tūtū wahine and Tūtū kane and majority of my maternal Kānaka kupuna who've passed. Aʻole TMT! This is our most SACRED land in all of Hawaiʻi on the birth island of our first King Kamehameha. To HI county Mayor Kimo Alameda (you sell out) and the greedy spineless corrupt UH administrators, OHA members & Kamehameha Schools "trustees," voice your OPPOSITION to the TMT in the any/next public hearing(s) and remember who you work for - the PUBLIC. You're all more corrupt than most democrats in the Continental U.S. STOP DESECRATING HAWAIIAN LANDS. KEEP HAWAIIAN LANDS IN HAWAIIAN HANDS. Aloha ʻĀina!
I care because not only is it desiccating our ancestrial burial grounds but it will put a huge risk on our reservoir thats up there. They have a few up there why not just use what you have up there? If not i am all for removing all telescopes for the mauna. Ku kiai mauna a wakea eo
Protect Mauna Kea: Stop the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT)
Mauna Kea is a sacred mountain, central to the spiritual and cultural practices of the Kanaka Maoli, the Native Hawaiian people. The proposed construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) threatens to desecrate this revered site and harm the mountain’s health and ecology.
I stand in solidarity with the Kanaka Maoli, demanding no construction on Mauna Kea without their free, prior, and informed consent. This is more than a local issue—it’s a global call to protect Indigenous rights and sacred lands.
This is Hawaiian Lands. A sacred land where our Royalties rest. The science company can use the other 13 telescopes that they have on the Big Island to observe. They always tell the Hawaiian people, "Just one more, just one more" when in reality just one more is never enough for them. #KeepHawaiianLandsInHawaiianHands
I care about this issue because I know that out off all the islands that was stolen including the Mainland from my people, I feel and hope that the Hawaiian Islands have a chance to be the first to gain its independence from the mainland.
I am not against science. I am against the unethical desecration of sacred land. Let’s spend that money on the people and land to Malama the people and the land.
