These camp sites on farms are essential. It’s a small cashflow for farmers when times are tough, it also provides those farmers with a variety of people to talk too. This is very good for the farmers wellbeing. A lot of farms have the most amazing views, peaceful environment and that’s what a lot of busy families need. Ease up councils, too much regulation.

Farmers need every bit of help they can get. If some funds generated by campers help them to feed their cattle, put diesel in their tractors etc. I am all for it. The added bonus of providing new places to camp, giving city people a chance to meet a farmer and actually know what it takes to produce the food that they eat and appreciate by experiencing the environment may just be what the world needs. Cut the red tape, if Farmers can not look after their land and supervise campers to ensure there is minimal impact without the red tape and bureaucracy then the planet is doomed and we better start planning for life on Mars.

I'm a farmer in NSW. Hipcamp and Campers all over the country help us financially. They help us get through the years where our crops don't provide enough income. Putting all this red tape on this source of income will damage the farmers. We love the campers that come to enjoy our property and they love it too. Don't hurt farmers when they're already struggling

As a off grid caravan camper we love staying on farms, helping the farmers with income & getting to see a different side of rural life. Getting to meet the farmers is great too, it also means we travel to different areas, thru different towns & support local businesses along the way

With increasing cost of living pressures more affordable holiday options are needed in order to have the opportunity to have a break from the stressors of everyday work and life. Often campsites at National parks are booked well in advance or very busy. Being able to camp on private property is a wonderful opportunity to experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Australian bush.

I emigrated with my wife and three sons from the UK for many reasons, one being the country is run by greed and as a result there is no freedom. I pray that Australia doesn’t follow in the UK’s footsteps and tax the life and sole out of its people. The only way to stop these things progressing is to stick together, tell them no it’s not happening, stand strong and a unite. The government and councils work for the people of its country, not the other way round. I agree it needs regulations to protect the land and people using it, it should come with rules but charging land owners the ridiculous fees is robbery, it’s just legal because it’s charged buy the people that make the rules. Hipcamp is a fantastic app, who ever invented it should be proud of what it’s achieved and I hope it continues to grow.

Camping and 4x4ing has been a massive part of my life since I was born and for many other Australians, sick of slowly seeing what makes this country great being stripped away by rules, regs and money hungry pollies, hopefully we can make a change.

As a resident of South East Queensland I frequently visit the Scenic Rim. We prefer a less developed place to camp. We have camped at a few places using Hip Camps in the area as we want to move away from caravan parks and larger camping facilities in the area. We buy local products and supplies from the areas we stay in despite the face we could easily be self sufficient by taking all food/supplies from shops near our home. The stays we've had with land owners has been amazing, the land owners talk about their property with pride and teach us and our children history that isn't in a text book. Our activities do not leave lasting impacts on the land we stay upon as we are self sustained. We don't even release grey water. Local councils need to modernise their way of thinking. Stop beating up struggling farmers for a power play. Work with them to assist in diversification which leads to better outcomes for all in the councils area.
