I have lived adjacent the Adelaide Golf course for 30 years, and walked among these glorious trees over 8000 times. The Adelaide Parklands are a unique treasure, keeping us cool as the climate warms. They were bequeathed to all of us, not to your Government. Major urban developments in Bowden and shortly Thebarton have (& will continue to) increased the number of residents needing green space to retreat to. Stop trading our precious natural resources to fund commercial interests. Your environmental vandalism is incredibly short sighted.
I have myself planted many trees on my very small block in kilburn. The difference it makes to the summer heat and the amount of wildlife that are in my garden at any given time is amazing. And my garden is not an established large area as are the parkland. To destroy any small part of it for the profit of a few is appalling. We are losing so much biodiversity every minute in this country. Please do not contribute further to this devastation.
Peter, I have lived in Adelaide for over 50 years. The Parklands of this city are our treasure. They are not to be frivolously altered for the sake of a strictly commercial venture. You've been a good Premier of this state, but this is a MAJOR mis-step. Please reconsider before it's too late.
It astounds me that once again a demand to move a harmless native Australian animal living in Australian bushland so someone can ride around on an introduced species for fun gets to a point where a petition is even needed?
Although horses are allowed in there is surely if a horse is so skittish an emu scares it then riding in a popular mountain biking network isn’t where you should be in the first place .
