I grew up at this playground.
It's a beautiful spot for a good playground which so many children can walk to from the long reef, collaroy, dee why and Cromer area.
For many thousands of years, our First Nations people have done an exceptionally good job of preserving Australia's natural environment. This has made it possible for Australia to become a highly urbanized multicultural nation with one of the best health and welfare systems in the world. Therefore, isn't it time that we really start listening to and learning from our indigenous Australians so that we can all work together to preserve our native flora and fauna? After all, Australia remains the driest continent on Earth, with eighty-five percent of its land area already classed as arid. This means that we must do our best to preserve what little fertile land and native wildlife remain.
Baldwin Swamp is one of my favourite parts of the area I live in. It has provided my family and I many happy memories like riding bikes, going on runs and walks and being able to enjoy nature. Every time I go I see the kangaroos and wildlife and it would be a huge loss to destroy their habitat when there are plenty of other perfectly good areas to build new houses in.
Bundaberg has already been cleared within an inch of its life for farming. its lacking so much nature and council needs to be protecting the little bit of bush land we do have left. To clear this would be devastating
Two years ago while they were spraying along the rear of boardwalk place I spoke to one of the operators in a hazmat suit to discuss the chemicals being used. He told me they were using glyphosate (the chemical from roundup). I found this to be quite alarming considering most countries have banned or heavily restricted the same substance. MVCC sprays this into the community from massive drones, also considering the peregrine falcon that nests in the same cliff face every year you would think there would be a better alternative.
I used to live and work in Wellington. When i could take time off I would travel around the country to see as much of the beauty that New Zealand has including its unique wildlife. New Zealand is the most beautiful country I’ve been able to visit and it and the wildlife need to be protected, no question about it.
The location is in a direct line between Alamanda and Homestead schools. When my daughter makes the transition between the schools, people who reside at the proposed caravan park will become part of a safety management plan for her. It's not appropriate for the area.
