It is unbelievable that a district is looking to block the ability of a school to access funds that are outside of the district after only a few months of the school opening. They seem to ignore the early success of the school and students. My son a 6th grader has had an amazing transition. He is now an A and B student after making the transition to this school. Having the opportunity to work with new technology computers is just the beginning. Great teachers and staff that care about the student is key to the success. Taking this opportunity from the community will damage the future of this city

Supporting OCSCS Charter isn’t about replacing traditional schools—it’s about expanding options and fostering innovation in education. Neighboring OUSD has successfully balanced autonomous charters with district oversight, showing that collaboration can drive progress while benefiting families. Schools like OCSCS offer transformative experiences. Career-oriented electives like Shark Tank-style competitions and College and Career Readiness programs have equipped my child with skills in innovative product ideas, research, and professional planning. Practical Life Skills electives, such as CPR training ( was also offered) , and starting tomorrow he starts with into to nutrition, these elective options have nurtured independence and preparedness. Enrichment programs, like Astronomy that also begins tomorrow, most definitely opens an entirely new realms of exploration and understanding—sparking curiosity about the universe and inspiring scientific discovery. Debate and Persuasive Speaking electives hone critical thinking and communication skills, preparing students for leadership roles. OCSCS provides an education that goes beyond academics, preparing students for life. Supporting schools like this means advocating for innovation, flexibility, and impactful learning for all students. Dr. Fisher has delivered (very close) to what was pictured to us while enrolling and certainly with the support of the Board & the community she will only help PYLUSD grow and prosper. She is extremely welcoming and hence I take this liberty to invite ANY COMMUNITY MEMBER who has doubts or concerns about OCSCS to walk the school and see it for yourself. To the PYLUSD BOARD, Please keep the current (700+) and future students of OCSCS as your focus, and join Dr. Fisher - to be a positive part of their growth and future.

This school has been amazing for my son. It has got him excited about school again, at a time that is very scary for kids. You would be doing a huge disservice to our kids if OCSCS were to close down. Please let the parents decide on what is right for our kids. Our kids are not political pawns in your agenda.

I am a future OCSCS parent and my kids are so excited to attend. Please support this school so it can be better for when they come in a couple of years! This school has been amazing for my son.
