Prison systems are a critical issue globally, with petitions addressing various aspects of incarceration, rehabilitation, and criminal justice reform. Recent trends highlight the need for improved conditions within prisons, such as addressing overcrowding and ensuring access to healthcare for inmates. Key themes in the petitions include advocating for alternatives to incarceration, ending the use of solitary confinement, and supporting reentry programs for formerly incarcerated individuals.
One impactful petition calls for the abolishment of private prisons, emphasizing the profit-driven nature of these facilities and the negative impact on prisoners rights. Another petition focuses on advocating for mental health resources within prisons to address the high rates of mental illness among inmates.
Join the movement by exploring the petitions on prison systems and taking action to support a more just and humane criminal justice system. Your engagement can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those impacted by the prison system.

This topic is so important. As a former child services caseworker, we are trained that the most vulnerable to abuse are the victims that aren’t able to speak for themselves, but what about animals? How are they supposed to speak for themselves, make phone for themselves, tell a trusted teacher or health care provider that they’re being harmed? There are too few laws around this and not strong enough penalties for perpetrators. All lives are precious human or not and nothing on earth deserves to be purposefully harmed. This is a serious matter that deserves attention and a bigger platform. The death of an animal due to abuse leaves just as much of an impact on families as the death of a child. To some, their pets are their children. Why should they be treated as less? I would like to see the pressure turned up on legislators to really take this serious and do something about it. I could also go on in detail about the psychopathology that usually precedes animal abuse, along with the following escalation to violence against humans but wrong is wrong and it bares repeating that no matter what, this needs to be addressed.
I believe that it will keep our loved ones from getting in trouble and keep the spark between us and our loved ones! It will give our loved one something to look forward to. Woman and men on the outside feel not only are our loved ones have the consequences of getting in trouble but us on the outside who are good standing citizens should not have to suffer the consequences ourselves. We are good influences on our loved one and it will keep the love alive and help with the intimacy that we need because if that's gone our loved ones don't have a chance of changing if us citizens keep leaving our loved ones from that chance of changing. Please just try it out see how different our loved ones would change if conjugal were accepted.
I strongly believe this will not only help others but also keep loved ones closer to family.! Yes incarcerated people still have people that love them and miss them deeply!
As someone who's done a long stretch inside prison, I can say for sure that having some alone time with family or a spouse is an exceptionally wonderful thing. Many people who don't have this opportunity feel as if their community is slipping away from them, and visits are a huge way to bring people closer to their family.
Our loved ones are already paying the price by being incarcerated but no one looks at what that does to the family who is doing that time with them on an emotional level, this will not only help with the moral of the inmate but help to rehabilitate them by reminding them of the love and support they have at home!
I strongly believe this will keep loved ones closer to family.! Yes incarcerated people still have people that love them and miss them deeply praying for the change.
My husband is in prison in Colorado. I fly from New York to sit with him for 5 hours, and we're barely allowed hug and kiss.
New York recognizes the benefits of family visits and is one of the few that allow them. I think the other states are foolish for not utilizing this.
