stand in full support of this petition for Tavoris Jefferson, a man who was sentenced to 45 years for a mistake he made at just 17 years old. He was still a child when he entered the system, and over the last 18 years, he has grown, matured, and transformed into a man of integrity, faith, and purpose. Tavoris has used his time behind bars to educate himself, complete every rehabilitative program available, and seek personal development through independent study. He has proven time and time again that he is not the same young man who walked into that courtroom all those years ago. He is now a man who deserves a second chance to rejoin society, to be a father, a son, and a positive force in his community. The Arkansas Department of Corrections is not a place of rehabilitation—it is a system that warehouses young men without offering meaningful opportunities for growth and reintegration. Yet, despite the odds, Tavoris has done everything in his power to better himself. Keeping him incarcerated serves no purpose other than to prolong an injustice. We call on the Governor of Arkansas, the parole board, and all decision-makers in this state to do what is right. Recognize Tavoris for the man he has become, not the child he was. Grant him the opportunity to return home, to be a productive member of society, and to prove that redemption is possible. To those reading this, your signature can make a difference. It can be the voice that helps bring a father home, that corrects an unjustly harsh sentence, and that restores hope where it has been denied for too long. Let’s stand together for justice, second chances, and the belief that people can change. #JusticeForTavoris #SecondChancesMatter #FreeTavorisJefferson

He’s served his time PLUS some…. Let that man get home to his family! The “Justice” system needs to be dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick. Bc it’s far frm Justice at this point.

Being just a teenager when he got into and spending over 20 yrs locked up there is no doubt that this man deserves a second chance because he really never had the first chance...please give him a chance to know what it is to live as a free man

Your words truly moved me. I feel your heart, and I want you to know you're not alone. My husband, Arnulfo, is also serving a 35-year sentence and has been incarcerated for 26 years. He, too, was denied parole with the same 2D code—despite creating personal development programs for others, mentoring peers, earning the support of staff, and being recognized as a leader in rehabilitation and reentry work. It’s heartbreaking to see men like Alexander, who have clearly changed, be passed over time and again. I signed your petition with compassion and prayer—believing change will come. I’m also asking for support in my husband’s case. If you'd like to read and share it, here is his petition: https://chng.it/6rwZcYybSk You’re not alone. Keep going. You're making a difference.

I've had the blessing to know Alexander Ives , personally as a Prison fellowship academy group member and my brother IN CHRIST . The man I have come to know is not a violent man and that's the truth . But what I do see is a man who excels in everything he puts his hand to & contributes to his environment. He has goals set for his release and there is no doubt he will continue to be a asset to the community when released. As a concerned tax paying citizen I'm requesting that parole please allow Alexander to come home to his family and loved ones . Thank you

I have been in and out of the prison system since I was a juvenile and it seems the system was created to work against us. I am a repeat offender and never had an opportunity to reform and prepare for release!! After being released, navigating the world seemed almost impossible. Turning to drugs and crime constantly has been something all to familiar to me!! I struggle everyday trying to correct and change old behaviors and have fought many demons, but with my own and gods help I have learned to be a different person!!!!

My Judge gave me another chance and I have not been in any type of trouble for 11 years.Sometimes it takes some of a little longer to get it together but because my Judge gave me a chance to turn around met alot to me. Everyone deserves a second chance and sometimes more depending on the situation.Thank you Judge Stevens!!!

Michelle is a smart, caring, and beautiful person with huge potential. She has gone above and beyond what society expects from incarcerated individuals. If there is one thing I would encourage a person to think on, it would be this: How can we ask a person to turn their life around, to foster real change, and then tell them they cannot show that change to the world. There are hundreds sitting in prison, who have the potential to do great things, but due to lengthy sentences they are forced to sit stagnant as they wait for a miracle. Please don't allow this tragic moment in time overshadow all the things Michelle has to offer the world.

I have been incarcerated and I know how hard it is to do good inside. I have never gone back and turned my life around he deserves to get out by all the good he has done inside what he has done is remarkable
