Kevin unterstützt: Endorse this OPEN LETTER to Parliament : INVESTIGATE Canada PostI absolutely couldn’t agree more, the LED bright white head lights are extremely dangerous, I’ve had to actually pull over until a stream of oncoming cars with these led lights have gone by as I could not see the road , I was blinded, and have had several very close calls due to not being able to see.
They should DEFINITELY be banned, if I were abusing another new/second hand car I would not purchase it if it had those sort of lights. I am convinced that that they have already been the cause of many serious accidents
Lynda Woolley unterstützt: Ban the Use and Distribution of LED Headlights in CanadaThis problem is especially bad for people with astigmatism or glasses—recently I switched to contact lenses and couldn't believe how much easier nighttime driving was without the glare of oncoming headlights completely eclipsing everything else in my vision.
And this petition only talks about oncoming traffic... what about when a pickup truck starts tailgating your smaller car, and now the vehicle BEHIND you's LED headlights have blinded you?
I don't necessarily think LED lights need to be banned, but they absolutely need to be regulated on how bright they're allowed to be and what angle they're set to. LEDs don't HAVE to be eye-searing supernovas!
And all the insistence on LEDs for dark roads... okay fine but if you want to keep producing cars with LED headlights, I for one think that if my car can detect road lines for lane assist, and sense how close it is to the car in front for automatic cruise control, it's easily feasible for car manufacturers to add a feature that detects oncoming headlights and auto-turns off high beams, or even just activates a half-shutter on the left headlight to angle the light away. We have the technology! But no car manufacturer is going to prioritize a feature that assists with comfort of other drivers on the road without legislative motivation.

The proposals in bill C-2 would strip our freedoms away, as well as seriously hurt our ability to help refugees and other human beings in need. Especially in these unprecedented times, where Queer and PoC Americans are no longer safe within their own country's borders.
As a proud Canadian, I have absolutely no interest in "mending trade relations" with the U.S.A.
Donald Trump is a dangerous individual, and seeing our "liberal" government capitulate to his authoritarian whims like this is beyond disappointing. This bill is an outright betrayal of everything we as Canadians stand for.
