Pardons are a significant topic with far-reaching implications for individuals seeking redemption and justice. Recent events and trends highlight the importance of pardons in addressing systemic injustices and promoting fairness in the legal system. Key issues and themes in petitions related to pardons include advocating for clemency for non-violent offenders, wrongful convictions, and harsh sentencing disparities.
Notable petitions have gained traction for granting pardons to individuals wrongfully incarcerated or facing excessive jail time. Specific examples include a petition calling for the release of a person serving a lengthy sentence for a non-violent drug offense and another petition seeking a pardon for a wrongly convicted individual.
Join the movement by exploring petitions on pardons and taking action to support those in need of clemency. Your involvement can make a difference in shaping a more equitable and just society for all.
I’ve been a victim of the Federal Courts myself. There needs to be change in the sentencing guidelines. The Judges have no power under the guidelines. It is a travesty.
I am a United States Army veteran, I have known Brian since he was a very young child, for me escaping to the Army was the only way to get away from this life I didn’t want. Brian did not have that option because he was exposed to that life at such a young age. I believe that now that he has been able to grow and mature he will make better and different life choices! He deserves a another opportunity!
We have recently been involved in the criminal court system and we know what Joe is saying about the corrupt court system. Prosecutors have way too much power and they need a check and balance themselves. Going to trial is so expensive and very few can afford it. The provided state lawyers are already overworked and they don't have time to deal with it, so your other option is to take what the overlord offers. The judges usually go along with this, without ever hearing much about the cases until sentencing, then they also go along with the prosecutors suggestions there as well. It is an unfair system for so many. It needs a huge overhaul. These are people & families that are affected, not just game pieces on a board, which is what it feels like.
Lynn needs her husband home and has been waiting too long for this talented, intelligent and passionate man to be set free. Look at all he’s done for the community!! Pardon Mr. Yee and grant him the freedom he has earned!!
I just believed that everybody deserves a second chance even a third chance and I’ve been knowing this young man all his life no one‘s perfect and I believe he served enough time and I believe he will be an outstanding citizen once again on his release into the community I believe he also has remorse for his convictions I said, give him another chance, please🙏🏾
As somebody who struggles with mental health issues, the concept of a police officer refusing to try to understand when somebody is going through something is utterly terrifying, especially when taking into account how stigmatized certain disorders are.
He’s served his time PLUS some…. Let that man get home to his family! The “Justice” system needs to be dismantled and rebuilt brick by brick. Bc it’s far frm Justice at this point.
oh yes i know full well the obstacles felons face. housing, jobs, you name it. believe this one - can't adopt a dog from some shelters if you are a felon. getting a pardon won't erase a criminal history on my state's public website; will a presidential pardon do this? anyone can look up your name in wisconsin and judge you on that; how many people share the same name; how many mistakes are made? i support you in getting this pardon.
I personally got charged with a felony at the age of 19 for simply getting somebody some marijuana, I mean we all make mistakes but this thoughtless mistake has cost me the right to bare arms, is has prohibited me from furthering my career and the opportunity to work for certain companies, its very hard to find places to rent and almost impossible for me to be on the lease so my financial contribution is invalid, I know it doesn’t seem like much but it’s drastically changed my life and made it harder for me and my family.
