Non-profit organizations play a crucial role in addressing social, environmental, and humanitarian issues worldwide. These organizations rely on donations and volunteers to support their missions and make a positive impact on society. Petitions under this topic advocate for increased funding and resources for non-profits, transparency and accountability in their operations, and support for specific causes such as animal rights, poverty alleviation, and environmental conservation.
One notable petition calls for stricter regulations on non-profits to prevent misuse of funds and ensure transparency in their financial practices. Another petition urges policymakers to allocate more government funding to support non-profit organizations that work towards education and healthcare access for marginalized communities.
Join the movement to support non-profits and their important work by exploring and signing petitions that align with your values. Your involvement can help create a more equitable and sustainable world for all.
PHC is more than just a resource hub -- it's a lifeline. I've seen how PHC helps homeless and marginalized individuals access shelter, legal aid, harm reduction services, and more. PHC meets people where they're at, connecting them to the tools they need to stabilize.
As a nurse committed to the health and well-being of my community, I urge the department to reconsider. Public health isn't limited to clinics and hospitals -- it's about access to basic needs, equity, and support. PHC delivers all of this with dignity and compassion, which is why I proudly volunteer with this org.
Defunding PHC would strip away a critical safety net for many people. Once again, please reconsider.
Working for the SF-Marin Food Bank, I've seen first hand the importance of PHC first hand as an invaluable resource for those in our community who need it most.
Please reconsider defunding PCH, this program is vital to those battling homelessness and marginalized people. I have been doing outreach at these events for over 6 years. The feedback I get from consumers is a huge thanks for the services we provide and that the information is very helpful.
Thank you, W. Travis Hill
As a former homeless woman, when I first heard about the things they could do to help - I thought it was a pipe dream someone made up!! But no, it was true! Being able to connect with the DMV, optometrists, dentists, health services (both mental and physical health!) and so much more.. and the volunteers rock!! It's why I've volunteered at least twice to the bigger PHC's, since finally getting myself into housing.. and I want to volunteer at more of their bigger PHC's, that they have at the Bill Graham Auditorium, every 3 months!!
People who have never experienced what homelessness is like, can maybe casually dismiss the homeless they pass on the streets, or be mad that those with mental disorders or drug addiction, who will set up "camp" close to their homes.. but that's what's wrong with how our country is turning out!! The Rich will keep taking everything from the rest of us in this country, and blame those who are homeless, people of color, people with mental disorders.. but it's the greedy people who run the places we end up working for, but never making enough to be able to take a sick day or two, when we need - mostly because we can't afford our rents, and being able to eat something besides Top Ramen, 7 days a week, for 2 meals or more -daily!!!
The politicians who claim.they love our country, while scorning those they've kicked to the curb, because their underpaid and overwhelmingly over work, and yet the big companies in US are constantly giving CEOs huge bonuses, while laying of 10% to 1/3rd of their work force so some greedy investors can make record profits, year after year..
Fight the people making us all one paycheck away from becoming homeless (again!?)
We use to be able to have blue collar or laborers in this country, be able to afford rent, and to feed themselves and their kids!! But now?? Our middle class is non-existant, and too many people/kids/ seniors/ etc.get to go to bed hungry, night after night..
The City maybe facing a deficit, but why take it out on the most vul
This is such an important organization. They do so much for the community here. They are a lifeline to the underserved homeless and misunderstood in this area. Until this problem is solved by those we appointed to solve this while in office, these people were keeping the people who need it fed , warm, and as healthy as possible. Don’t let the powers that be cut them off.
There are a couple million noisy spaces in the region. There is one that is quiet. Noise is not obligated to devour everything. It is the quiet one that takes me to Isanti County. I am always sensitive to the "last person" moving to the quiet edge--then wanting everyone else to stay away. That is not reality. But all owners ought be able to depend on the planning/zoning under which they became owners.
In my city, rental venues are very problematic. Every event is different, with different clientele, run by different renters--often attracting a crowd that has staying in-bounds as the last thing on their mind. Even when tightly enforced--even the amount of enforcement activity can be disruptive to calm.
I was gifted a stay at Pacem in Terris by a very dear friend who knew I was in a place of needing quiet rest in God's presence. Pacem in Terris provided me much solace and spiritual reflection in the midst of a very strenuous time of adversity. I am so grateful for the experience and the kindness that was shown by the staff. Please come experience the solitude for yourself so that you know what it's like and to not grant a conditional use for this venue. Thank you
Pacem is a place of peace, silence, and rest that has been a gift to me and many others! It’s important to protect the silence so that it can continue to be a haven for people.
