One more comment... putting in a path that would go through to the metroparks would be so much better. I still can't believe Strongsville has no bike lanes anywhere. My husband and I have to ride bikes on uneven sidewalks that don't even go all the way to the park. The City went through all of the trouble and expense to put in new sewers on prospect but couldn't add a simple bike lane so residents could easily get to the metroparks. Let the Metro Parks take over this land and do something useful while protecting the small amount of wooded areas we have left.
It's funny how Strongsville has been giving away free trees for the past few years working to replace the mature tree canopy but they continue to allow developers to just tear down acres of mature trees to add more buildings and businesses we do not need. Think about the environment and wildlife for once....and the residents who enjoy the beauty of the trees. My God... enough is enough. We can't take anymore traffic or people coming to our city. I go to Berea for everything.... don't even shop in Strongsville because I can't deal with driving down Pearl or 82.
How could this project even be considered without first solving the traffic issue at 71, 82 and Howe Rd? That traffic mess is already a.nightmare for citizens of Strongsville. Would you really inflict more aggravation on us, and then share it with hotel guests?
If you are intent on shoehorning in a hotel, look east of 71and find land there, or buy an existing hotel and refurbish or replace it. Would be out of the way of an already very congested area.
I've lived in Strongsville for over a decade and it used to be a nice place to live, a real suburb. Now all you see popping up on almost every corner is a car wash, fast food spots, gas stations. Now the city wants to put up a hotel,.. for what? Strongsville is not downtown Clevelandor airport where those type of things should be. Strongsville is becoming to congested with the wrong things. Please stop and leave the community a community.
The traffic has been cutting through that street by Goddard School to avoid the traffic light at the congested intersection of Royalton and Falling Water . This is already an overloaded traffic area, please don't make it worse for residents. A hotel jammed into that tiny, congested land area is insanity. City Council Members, please consider your constituents and DO NOT REZONE!!!
We don't need more traffic in Strongsville and we don't need more mature trees cut down. Our city is a constant traffic jam. I tell people not to move here and I know people who are leaving because of the over development. Stop destroying what's left to put up another building. Let the Metro Parks do something with the land that the residents can actually enjoy.
I live on the street directly behind this property. And it would ruin or development. We have a beautiful woods to look at now, a hotel would not be something we would want to look at. Besides the possibility of undesirerables coming over into our development and our yards. We pay a lot of money to live in Ledgewood and shouldn't have to worry about our safety or people destroying our property.
I lived in this neighborhood for 15 years and the tree house is a fixture of the community. So many Halloween memories with families and friends. This is bureaucracy in over drive and should stop.
In a deeply depersonalized city in which greedy builders and developers rip everything original down for profit, this treehouse is even more important. It represents a happy past and a place to gather in the present that isn't online. It personalizes the neighborhood. After the fires have destroyed the charm of the Palisades, this treehouse is even more important than ever.
