NY Ez Pass fees are out of control and can’t be legal. I’ve had countless issues and received various bills over the past year despite having a valid ez pass. I’ve received bills for cars that weren’t mine multiple times. And most recently I’m receiving bills in the mail for the first time, that have late and overdue balance fees causing the fee to double. It makes no sense and there’s no easy way to dispute it. It can’t be legal.
I’m signing because the current EZ Pass system in NYC places an unfair burden on residents, creating excessive toll costs and financial strain. A more equitable and transparent system is needed to ensure accessibility and affordability for all commuters.
I went from a toll bill that was $850!!! But got hit with a "administration fee" that 850 bill turned into $3600 with a pending suspension!! As a mom of 3! That so much stress to face. When I called about a payment plan or paying some they told me NO you have to paid it all in one shot!
I am a doorman in Manhattan on 57th street. Not only am I paying for parking I am paying $9.00 for a toll that makes no sense.Im paying close to $25.00 a day to get into the city..This congestion pricing is doing more harm then good for people that have to work in Manhattan and restaurants and small businesses are in trouble as well.Subways are not safe for people that have to travel at night .lets make this city great again .Please reverse congestion pricing
Ever since they decided to take up all physical tolls booth, where the cash was MUCHHHH easier pay it’s been hectic for literally EVERYONE I know to keep up with tolls. One Miss toll, and you’re hit with a hugeeeeee fee. My registration is currently suspended and they are telling me I have to pay all my fees in order to reinstate my registration. I don’t even know where all these toll bills came from, being that I barely commute across tolls. WE THE PEOPLE need to do something and take great actions immediately! They cannot keep getting away with this robbery !
I commute into the city almost everyday for work/school. I am in college and certainly cannot afford to pay these tolls everyday, let alone an additional $9 if I need to get anywhere below 60th. The subways are awful, constantly delayed, crowded and dangerous. And these problems have existed since WAY before congestion pricing. How the fuck is the MTA going to promote using their public transportation systems without having made any ACTUAL change??!!!
There’s no reason for an $100 fee. This makes it impossible to pay off your tolls then you get a suspended registration and you’re told there’s no option other to pay it all. If several people are paying $10,000 or more with fees, when the tolls are totaling to $100, where’s the money going??? Subsequently, they add more tolls. Ridiculous.
The state and city FORCED CREDIT upon us which should not have been allowed. The fees compared to the actual cost of the toll are astronomical and should be illegal! Here is my question..before EzPass and Cashless Tolls were forced upon us, were people’s car registrations being revoked? Were there checkpoints at the bridges where cars are being impounded for non payment of tolls and fees? NO therefore the issue is NOT the people but rather a system that set the average person up for failure! I’ve heard so many sad stories about how EzPass and literally ruined and/or is currently ruining people’s life…Enough is enough!
I literally had to pay $10,000 dollars to this Ezpass and MTA. I was owing $600 and they charged me all this of fees and I had no choice or discount, I had to do it since they suspended my car registration and I spend months trying to reach them, I was on the phone for hours and nobody responded until one day they finally pick up the phone. I just got my car registration back 3 months ago after a pay the $10,000 😣
