We, the residents of northwestern Ditmars Steinway, urge the MTA to preserve our bus access that is being threatened with the MTA's proposed Bus Network Redesign. We urge you to explore alternative solutions to address transit concerns in our community.

The proposed elimination of the Q100 will affect up to 8,700 potential riders, disproportionately impacting individuals with mobility issues, the elderly, and other vulnerable populations who rely on public transportation. With the nearest subway station being up to 2.5 avenues and 12 blocks away, our area is already facing challenges in terms of accessibility to public transit. Removing the Q100 stop will only exacerbate these issues, turning our neighborhood into an even more challenging transit desert.

We propose an alternative solution: extending the rerouting of the B62 bus to continue north on 21st Street and turnaround on 20th Avenue. This adjustment would maintain accessibility and convenience while addressing any logistical concerns.
