The bike section is how we as a community meet up to make friends and admire the work on everyone’s bike. I understand we can be rowdy but completely removing us is a bit far given how much support we bring!
As a rider it is extremely disappointing that C&O does not support all riders on motorcycles to be there. C&O is the place where all automotive enthusiasts (cars & motorcycles) come together, to not have us (riders) there is awful. Many of us want to share our stories, inspire young children, and show our love for bikes.
I personally witnessed the immediate aftermath of the accident that Jen was involved in, and then another accident at the same intersection a week later. I live nearby and I have anxiety every time I pass this intersection now, both because of what I saw, and fear that it could happen again.
What happened that night in March to my Mom has been such a tragic end to the life she could be living today. That intersection has been dangerous for a while and now we have a way to propose it being shut down. Unfortunately, it took the loss of her life to do something. It's better to protect the others in the community so nothing like this has to happen to anyone else.
At the end of the day, we lost a good life. For what? A red light running? And now they drop the charges? Doing that implied his life was meaningless and that’s the farthest thing from the truth. He should be here still. It’s not right.
It hasn’t even been a full year and I have already lost 5 people I care about. 2 of them were some of the most important people in my life. None of them have had justice served to the people who hit them and ended their lives. There needs to be stricter and better influenced laws against occupied and careless motorists. On my own bike I have faced near death too many times from people not looking or being on their phones. I am not the only one who faces these challenges. Look twice save a life !!!!!!!
A good friend of mine lost her life due to negligence. It shouldn't have to take someone losing their life for something to be done about it. Ride in paradise smallz!
My daughter was hit 2 years ago by a 20-year-old who pulled out in front of her. She was thrown 30 feet, many broken bones, TBI, SCI, which left her right arm paralyzed. Was told she would never walk again, but she proved the doctors wrong! Many operations since then and she is in pain 24/7. She was a nurse, but never will be again. The girl who hit her had no injuries and was sentenced to 30 hours community service. This is far from justice!
