Pet rent is ridiculous rent is already sky high and now it makes things even harder and forces people who let go of their beloved pets and creates more of an issue for animal shelters due to pet rent 1000s of dogs a year are put down because shelters are over ran. Families are already struggling to make ends meet and pet rent on top of paying a deposit is just greedy and unjustified. It shouldn't be allowed renters already deal with 80% of landlords being slum lords we shouldn't have to work to death just to have a roof over our heads and keep our fur babies.
I can imagine what it must be like to have a child that is bullied. The constant worry about what others may do to my child would haunt me daily. These families need help and support from school and community leaders to stop this behavior. All parents need to understand the importance of teaching their children to be kind of others. Something has to be done. If it takes legislation, then what are we waiting for?
I taught in the public schools for 32 years. Bullying has become worse over the years, mainly because the victims are punished and not allowed to defend themselves. The kids with the biggest hearts are always the targets of one's with sinister ways. When school staff does get involved in helping the victim, they are more likely to be sued for action than inaction. I am praying for the family of this sweet little boy.
I am so sorry for your loss. Sammy sounds like he was such a great kid. Hard to believe the adults in some of these schools are still not taking bullying more seriously. As an adult, i cannot imagine what it would do to my emotional state if i had to endure what Sammy endured day in and day out at my workplace. I hope you win the lawsuit and that your efforts create change, though I know it won't bring your son back.
My son was bullied and nothing was done at his catholic school to the point I had to pull him out and home school him for a year and a half until I found a better school and actually had to move to a different school district. That’s not how it should be because some people can’t just move, and we should never have to move to help our children. It was really terrible for my son and for the family just trying to help him. He is 26 and still suffers with depression over this. It’s been incredibly difficult for him and for us in trying to help him recover from the relentless pain and suffering from the bullying. Watching my son cry and rock back and forth, throwing up from fear and depression. The things these children did to him was insane. He was scared to even go to the bathroom because they would follow him. He was a quiet and smaller child who would be picked up and helped upside down kicking and screaming. He’s had nightmares and had to be put on depression medication in the 3rd grade due to this. The assistant principal told me it wasn’t happening because no one saw it to verify the validity of his claims. I nearly climbed over her desk and had to be calmed down by my ex-husband and I’m the calmer one. I can’t express the pain of watching my son go through this and the feeling of utter helplessness and pain. To this day we suffer from this pain and I would never wish this on any child and family. I desperately want this to stop and for their safety to be taken seriously and it to be stopped. My son went to a private school and I thought that would protect him from things that happen in public school but I was terribly wrong.
I am someone who is currently in a domestic violence shelter and am being bullied mercilessly by another resident and nothing is being done to help me . At my age I can barely tolerate it . I want to help make it safer for children especially.
