As someone who deeply cares about modernizing education in our digital age, I strongly support this petition to update Clinton High School's technology policies and email domain system. Having seen similar issues in schools across the country, I believe addressing these technology restrictions is crucial for student success in today's world. Students everywhere need access to relevant educational resources and tools to stay competitive and prepare for their futures. Overly restrictive technology policies can hinder research capabilities and limit access to valuable learning materials that are essential for modern education. When schools block too many legitimate educational websites and applications, it creates unnecessary barriers to learning and collaboration. The email domain issue is particularly concerning, as it can prevent students from fully participating in educational opportunities. Many academic platforms and programs require school email verification, and outdated or non-standard email domains can create unnecessary complications for students trying to access these resources. While online safety is important, many schools have successfully found ways to protect students while providing appropriate access to digital resources. A balanced approach to technology access has become standard practice in modern education. I encourage Clinton High School's administration to consider: 1. Updating the website filtering system to better align with current educational needs 2. Modernizing the school email domain 3. Implementing technology policies that protect students while supporting their educational goals Thank you for considering these important changes that could significantly improve the educational experience for Clinton High School students.

I care about this due to knowing someone that have gone through this. The guy got his sexual charges read in but got charged 9 months in jail for showing himself, and IS NOT on the list. I also know of someone that was (under age) put on the list because his neighbor saw him using the bathroom outside in his own yard with a privacy fence. He was not doing anything out of sexual pleasure, gets put on the list but people can do things for sexual pleasure and walk free?? There is something wrong with the system in place there needs to be CHANGE!!

This hits local businesses hard! At a time when outdoor seating is coming back, that potential revenue is lost for owners. Providing the affected businesses with some financial support or tax break due to the construction is not an unreasonable ask. Keeping well established and loved businesses in Forest Hills should be a priority. Forest Hills, Austin Street and Ascan Avenue, begin to lose appeal when chains take over. Support local businesses, incentivize them to stay when construction and rent increases begin to block their revenue, making it more difficult to keep employees and customers. Supporting local businesses takes on many forms, what is the city doing to support them?

As a homeowner, this is a scary situation. This criminal act can take away a house but the home is memories, livelihood, and possibly an heirloom. Squatting affects families, landlords, and potential renters (mentally, emotionally, and financially). This act is an atrocity to our community and its resources.

This law MUST change! It’s almost criminal in itself to the rightful owners and tenants of IL, to the people who work hard and take the right steps in life. All the while encouraging the criminal behavior of people who work the system, leech off of others and aren’t contributing to society as a whole at all. If I could sign this petition a million times, I would! People of Illinois even if you’ve never experienced a situation like this, please understand the risk that this law not only places on you but others too and sign this petition! Lift up your voice to unjust laws and regulations! We are the voice and the backbone of this country and state! If someone is not listed as the homeowner or on the lease agreement then it should be the right of whomever IS listed as one of the above to have an unwanted person removed from their property without having to jump through hoops to get it done, and ESPECIALLY if the unwanted person doesn’t contribute anything financially. I unfortunately am enduring a similar situation with this right now. I have a person, who I have never met, never known, and never invited into my home, keeping me from being able to enter my own home even when everything is in my name and all the bills are paid by me from my bank account. My experience: I have to travel out of state for work for extended amounts of time and I came home after a few month long project only to find my home inhabited by a complete stranger, and one that was doing drugs in my home. The police were called, a report was filed but they said there was nothing they could do because this person had mail delivered to my address in their name and had clothes inside the home. According to the police, I couldn’t make the person leave and definitely couldn’t forcibly remove them or any of their belongings because now the person supposedly had “rights” to be there according to IL law and I could be legally prosecuted if I did. The police said that I would have to cohabitate with them if they weren’t willing to leave voluntarily. Which, why should anyone be forced to cohabitate with someone they don’t know and on top of that doing hard drugs? That’s irrational and frankly unsafe! And do you think that any of these legislators or governmental officials would agree to that if they were put in the same situation? Absolutely not! Even more disturbing than that, is that this person could lock my door, pile a bunch of furniture in front of it and keep me from even entering my own home, let alone being able to stay there and the police legally couldn’t force entry into the home to allow me get back in. I was told I would have to go to court and start an eviction proceeding. Which not only does that cost money but then I’m also paying out of pocket to stay at a hotel because this individual refuses to let me into my own home. I pray no one ever has to experience what I’ve gone through, but unfortunately if this law doesn’t change more people will end up enduring this. The fortunate part is we can all do our part to get these laws changed!

I've seen what legal child kidnapping does to the families. Especially to the family that has the child taken from them. There's not a family in the world that has no strife in it. The perfect family doesn't exist! But the family that's had the child taken will never be right again. It's become a political thing, a money trap and the child is the one that pays for it.
