Local government refers to the lowest tier of public administration within a state or nation, managing affairs in cities, counties, towns, and districts. It typically includes entities like counties (or parishes and boroughs in some areas) and municipalities such as cities or towns, which handle services like roads, public safety, and land use. These bodies operate under powers granted by higher levels of government, often with elected councils, mayors, or managers overseeing operations.

At 37 years old and born and raised here, I can say my memories of driving past this house during the holidays goes back as far as I can remember. I drive my own children past this now. Leave these people alone and let them continue to spread joy to others on their own property.
Homeless is an all time high in my small town. My kids cannot walk to school or play in the neighborhoods in town. I’m a single mother and working pay check to pay check. Inflation is ridiculous and rent has gone up so much I can barely feed my children. But don’t qualify for assistance because I make to much.
Human trafficking has increased in our area. My own son was a victim who had gotten take right on our own street (our area has always been a nice area). Thank God he was able to escape and navigate his way back home. Never has this been a problem in our community like how it is now. These "leaders" are no leaders. They are destroying our home. It's time for change and that change starts with our voice.
I hiked in those hills 3 times a week for 13 years - watching a place I love burn to the ground due to the mismanagement of city officials is enraging. The destruction of the wildlife and the implications this will have on the environment far outweigh saving smelt. This is a catastrophe both for humans, animals and the planet. Those hills are the people’s escape from the chaos of LA. My heart is broken
In the words of Governor Tim Walz, "If you’re trying to erase history, you’re on the wrong side of it." Removing the original flag, which depicts a Native American riding off into the sunset, is not just about changing a design. It's an act of erasing history and symbolism that, for many, represents a part of our state's story. As a husband and father to three Native American women, I find it particularly concerning that the new design removes this representation entirely. It feels like a step backward in acknowledging and honoring the history and people who were here long before us.
This Flag represents the history of this once great State. Please reinstate this Flag so citizens of Minnesota can feel proud once more. Changing this Flag without the citizens of MN was a true slap in the face and hurt to feel we had no voice.
I am an immigrant. I have lived 10 years in Minnesota, and I have a Minnesota tattoo on my wrist. I love my state and my country—they gave me safety, freedom and potential. I don’t want to see the history of this nation erased. It is time you fight back against this shame and guilt and manipulation… stand for everything that made you once a great nation. ❤️🩹
