Navigating NDIS can be daunting, and having a plan managers who gets it & supports you is invaluable. Parents are asked if we are supported & able to access support with each survey call from NDIS, and this flies in the face of supporting parents!!

As a sole trader plan manager who built my business from the ground up after being on a Carer's pension most of my life, I am feeling a little destroyed today. I have to sit down and go through everything with a fine tooth comb because those set up fees helped us manage our overall budget and literally paid a wage for one of my staff! Considering wages and super both go up - How do we manage to have the same staffing level to meet our clients' needs the way we always have? It’s going to be a hard slog moving forward!

Every day, I witness the vital role Plan Managers play in supporting participants, families, and providers. They are essential to the functioning of the NDIS: ensuring services are delivered, claims are processed, compliance is maintained, and participants are guided through increasingly complex funding rules and guidelines. It is imperative that the role of Plan Managers is properly recognised.

Having a plan manager is vital when navigating the convoluted NDIA system. I was a floundering nervous wreck before I was told such help was available! Please keep this trusted, knowledgeable and valuable connection.

The reasons given for the cut to Plan Management set-up fees being due to "a drop in these fees being claimed" and a supposed "streamlining of PACE" is an absolute farce - every new plan, with existing participants or new, requires a significant amount of admin to set up, ESPECIALLY now with PACE's new Funding Periods that were rolled out without significant warning, giving Plan Managers no time to adjust procedures or programs/software/CRMs to accommodate this new, highly variable, plan break-down. If anything, MORE work is being put on Plan Managers now than ever. The cuts to Plan Management funds is a slap in the face.

As a speech pathologist supporting NDIS participants in regional and rural areas, I feel genuinely disheartened by the recent changes to the Price Guide regarding travel. These changes place an unfair burden on the very people who already struggle the most to access consistent, quality allied health services. Rural communities deserve the same opportunities for communication, connection, and independence as those in metropolitan areas. Limiting our ability to claim travel time fairly makes it harder for us to reach the people who need us most. It feels like our rural clients are being left behind, and that’s simply not okay!

We need to support female medical professionals to be able to keep their business running with rising inflation so they can continue to provide therapy for our most vulnerable

My son was born at 28 weeks and has had the use of funding through the NDIS early. Through early intervention we have seen so much improvement in him. Without allied health, in the private sector, we would not have been able to access services for early intervention. It gave us the choice and control to find a provider with the experience we needed after having bad experiences when we initially had to use specifically funded services where there was no choice or control.

My daughter has complex speech difficulties and it’s already so hard to find experienced paediatric speech therapists who have availability. Please don’t make it even harder by reducing their incentive to stay in the industry! Our kids need speech therapists and we need the government and NDIA to value their services, both through pay and policies.
