I used opioids for 10 years & after rehab, medication & meetings didn't help, I discovered kratom. Not only have I been clean ever since but I would surely be either dead or in jail if not for this wonderful plant. Please don't take this option away from other people who are currently struggling. Kratom saves lives!
I want to try to stop Kratom from taking another life.
Because I’ve already watched it steal Kevin’s life.
Piece by piece.
It doesn’t happen all at once—it creeps in, pretending to help, pretending to heal.
But then it robs you. Of joy. Of sleep. Of clarity. Of everything you used to be.
And the worst part?
No one sees it coming.
People defend it. Say it’s “natural.”
So is a hurricane. So is poison.
And I’m angry.
Angry that it’s legal in so many places.
Angry that people are suffering in silence because no one takes it seriously.
Angry that it’s too late for Kevin and might be too late for others if we don’t speak up.
I don’t want to lose another soul to this. It breaks me to think someone could die just because Kratom is sold with almost no regulation at all.
Please sign to regulate Kratom sales.
As a former drug and alcohol nurse, moving to the U.S. was a shock — especially when I saw Kratom, often called “gas station heroin,” sold legally on shelves.
In my years of clinical experience, I’ve seen firsthand how devastating Kratom addiction can be. Many of my clients described it as equally destructive as heroin, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
In Australia, Kratom is highly regulated for good reason, and if found, there is a minimum of 12 months in jail. But in parts of America, it’s sold like candy — no warnings, no safeguards. It breaks my heart to know people are suffering, while some still claim “Kratom isn’t a real drug” or “it can’t kill you.”
But it can. And it does.
Please sign this petition to ban Kratom in Florida. Your signature could save a life.
My 22 year old son Matthew died from Kratom powder (the least potent form of kratom available in the United States).
Kratom caused him to have a seizure, go into cardiac arrest and die.
My son became addicted to KRATOM after being on pain meds for a horrific knee surgery. Praise God we found out and he went to a Christian based rehab in time but just as people are saying, here in PCB, it is sold like candy at gas stations. It is advertised like crazy. A gas station attendant actually brought it to my son’s attention. Now my son is on the other side. He told me yesterday that a gas station attendant GAVE KRATOM to a person that said that they would come back and pay another day.
It is approaching epidemic levels around here. People cannot afford housing or food, but they are getting KRATOM.
Please help me help get the word out to how dangerous it is!!
We must get it banned everywhere asap!!
I know so many in recovery who have relapsed on kratom and although that’s their choice, a recovering opioid addict shouldn’t have the drug right in their face when they go to pump gas.
In memory of my son, Josiah, who died from mitragynine toxicity (kratom). Neither he or we, his parents, had a clue how dangerous this substance can be but now we know that thousands have died as a result. Please make a change to prevent other families getting that horrible knock on the door.
I also lost my son Johnny last April to Kratom. A deadly seizure from Kratom toxicity took his life. This garbage needs to be banned immediately to save lives. This poison is not intended for human consumption
