Stop SB 666 in West Virginia attempting to ban kratom and delta 8 THC

Stop SB 666 in West Virginia attempting to ban kratom and delta 8 THC
The Issue
West Virginia state senator Jack Woodrum has introduced a bill in the state senate to ban both kratom and delta 8 THC. Both kratom and delta 8 THC are currently federally legal substances. Many people with PTSD, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, opiod addiction, and many other ailments use these substances to help treat their conditions. In addition, responsible adults may use these substances for recreation. I believe everyone should have the right to choose for themselves whether to use these substances, and not be restricted by big government.
Furthermore, it is my strong belief that both kratom and delta 8 THC have weakened the illicit market in West Virginia and around the United States. banning these substances will only bolster black market sales and other criminal activity associated with illicit drug markets.
I ask that you stand with me in opposing this ban for the well-being and freedom of West Virginians. Thank you!
