This book really affected me and I was very excited to see this important topic brought to life in the movie...to give a sense of empowerment, community, and awareness about the issue of domestic violence. When I watched the movie, I was disappointed that it didn't meet that expectation. I didn't feel like the complexity of the issue was portrayed. After hearing that Justin's cut wasn't what was released, I really want to see his vision come to life. He spoke so beautifully in interviews about the book and how much sensitivity went in to making it and I think that deserved to be seen.

As someone who was abused by my dad physical and mental at the age 7-13. I believe justin deserves to release his version of the movie. People should see and feel how bad DV is.

As a survivor I know that there are many different versions of this story in real life. Although Blake’s version may be beautiful to some who have experienced it this way, I believe it could benefit others to see another version of this story so we can relate to it as well. There is nothing wrong with having two edits to a movie. The notebook was given two different endings that can be viewed. We deserve to see the other version of this story as well!

I feel that Justin Baldoni is an excellent director and would love to see only his version of the movie. I too am a survivor of domestic violence and greatly appreciate him trying to make an awareness to the victims.

As a domestic violence survivor, you need to release the directors cut. We deserve to be heard and to be seen in the way he intended. This needs real light shed on it and shouldn’t be swept under the rug.

As a long time fan of the novel and a DV survivor, when I saw Justin was taking on this project I was excited. His vision for the film from the start has been about the message, if his cut did better then we should see it. The critics of the movie saying it didn’t land right was because he was held back to appease his costar. Show us the directors cut! Give survivors back their voice and future directors.

As a DV survivor I was excited to see this book adapted into a movie. I read the book when it was released and it resonated with me so much and helped me through a lot. Finding out that Justin had the rights and was going to adapt it made me so excited as I had followed him since Jane The Virgin. Seeing the movie, however, did not bring me any of the emotions the book had. I was left feeling disappointed and as if the whole thing was out of touch. It was hard to even discern that this was about DV at all much less feel as connected as I should have been with the version that was released. We all deserve to see Justin’s vision and the passion I know he had for this movie.

After all the drama that we have heard about regarding this movie, i think it would be really great to see what Justin's Baldoni's vision for the film was. Also I was NOT a fan of the movie AT ALL AT ALL because it was completely out of touch with the reality of DV. Completely. It completely missed the KEY element of emotional and verbal abuse that comes WITH the physical violence, and thus it was an inaccurate portrayal of what domestic violence really IS. I guarantee there isn't a single relationship out there where physical abuse was not preceded by emotional and/or verbal abuse. ANYWAY - now I am curious to see the other version... I have a feeling that Baldoni gets it better than Blake Lively - and he's not even a woman lol. Thank you!!

As a woman who has experienced DV, the rawness of the book made me feel seen. I understood the inner dialogue of Lilly knowing she deserved to be treated better and her wanting to help Ryle. I was hoping taking my mother-in- law to see the movie would give her an unbiased image of what it’s like to be LILLY. I was given a fluffy version… I hate that Blake hijacked the production. She’s obviously never ACTUALLY been abused and doesn’t understand the importance of showing the raw reality of what happens behind closed doors. #justiceforbaldoni
