Petitions surrounding this topic often advocate for the protection of artistic freedom, calling out censorship in various forms.
Notable petitions include one that protests the removal of a controversial artwork from a museum and another that supports an artist facing censorship for their political opinions. These petitions highlight the importance of upholding freedom of expression in the art world.
Join the movement to combat art censorship by exploring the petitions and adding your support. Your involvement can help safeguard the right of artists to create and share their work without fear of censorship.
Banning sexual content has always been a slippery slope. First it's anything outrightly explicit, but different people have different definitions of what sexual content is, and bans like this disproportionately harm the LGBTQ+ community because of it. The kind of people that fight against pornography for "family values" are the same kind of people who would label the very existence of someone like me as "explicit". Bans like this help no one and cause far more harm than good. And even if you don't agree with the existence of explicit content, why should payment processors have the right to dictate what we can and can't purchase? It's a direct violation of personal freedoms. No company should be allowed to decide where and what I use my own hard earned money to purchase.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, even the tamest most non-pornographic image or text I post is taken with great offense by homophobic and transphobic people who want to eradicate the presence of Queer people online. The mere existence of a Pride flag let alone Pride colors in any art or clothing causes such bigots it treat it as the same thing as pornography. My community has routinely been unjustly targeted by bigots, who often use porn bans as a means to justify the banning as non-pornographic content. As a result, I am heavily oppossed to any and all banning of sexual content, because banning sexual content never stops there, it always include non-sexual things. As such the fight to protect peoples' right to sexual expression is vital for protecting my right to exist.
