I fully support this petition demanding justice for Dr. Maltsev. It is deeply concerning when cases of malicious prosecution arise, as they undermine trust in the legal system and can irreparably harm innocent individuals. A thorough and transparent investigation is critical to ensure accountability and restore faith in due process. No one should have to endure such unjust treatment. Let’s stand together for truth and justice!
Dear Dr. Maltsev,
As an American woman working within the educational system, I want to send you my heartfelt support and admiration. Your courage, intellect, and unrelenting pursuit of truth stand as a powerful example not only for your country but for the global scientific and academic community.
It is deeply troubling—and frankly, infuriating—to witness how law enforcement systems can be misused to silence voices of reason, research, and reform. The targeting of a scientist for their work or beliefs is an affront to every principle we hold dear in education, in democracy, and in human decency. Such abuses of power strike at the very heart of what it means to seek truth and advance society.
Despite these injustices, I hold hope in the strength and integrity of the judicial system to ultimately recognize and correct these wrongs. Justice, though sometimes delayed, must prevail—and I believe it will. Your dignity in the face of adversity is a testament to that truth.
Please know that you are not alone. Educators, scholars, and thinkers around the world stand with you. Your voice matters, your work matters, and your resilience inspires us all.
I have been following the case of Dr. Oleg Maltsev with growing unease. I am not a scientist. I am not part of Dr. Maltsev’s professional circle. But one does not need a degree in jurisprudence to recognize that what is happening here reflects a deeper illness. The state cannot criminalize intellectual inquiry and still pretend to champion democratic values.
Dr. Maltsev is not accused of acts of violence. He is not suspected of espionage, sabotage or conspiracy in any conventional sense. What he is guilty of, it seems, is having an independent voice, an analytical mind, and a body of work that does not conform to convenient narratives. These are not crimes. These are the very attributes that any thinking society should protect and respect.
There is still time to turn back. To show that Ukraine, even under enormous strain, does not confuse criticism with disloyalty!!!
"Willie Clark is more than just another name in the system—he’s a man with a humble spirit, a strong character, and a heart of gold. I had the privilege of knowing him personally during our time at USP McCreary, where he showed selflessness and kindness, even in the toughest circumstances.
It breaks my heart to see how the system failed him, with faulty jury instructions, unreliable witnesses, and a trial that stripped him of the fair chance every human being deserves. This isn't just about Willie; it’s about standing against a system that too often values convictions over justice.
Willie’s fight for fairness is a fight for all of us who believe in truth, integrity, and second chances. Signing this petition is about more than just supporting one man—it’s about making a stand for justice and accountability. Willie, you’re not forgotten. We’re here with you, fighting for the justice you’ve been denied for far too long."
