As an elderly person who has been disabled for over 36 years, if trouble arises, I'm barely able to defend myself or my family. In order to not have to resort immediately to deadly force we so I own a Belgian Malinois as a first line of defense. To destroy this sport which helps breed and train dogs for people like us, is egregiously wrong. Please don't take away the ability for others people to have the same sense of safety and security hat we do in a world growing darker by the day.

As with raising children, there is not a one for all method of behavior modification that will work for each individual. With dogs there are many different breeds that require different lifestyles & training. Each dog will not respond to certain methods but will for other methods. As with any profession, there are tools to get the job done. Dog training is no different. Would you tell a mechanic they can’t use a wrench? A pet groomer you can’t use scissors ? Etc ? This would not be ethical. Dogs will be seriously failed and misunderstood if proper methods for that particular dog couldn’t be used. This will have serious consequences for the dogs in question. Save the dogs and save the training methods. No one size fits all in the dog world.

Dog sports provide the working dog an opportunity to use their physical and intellectual abilities to the fullest. The work is challenging and fun for the dog. Working dogs often bring their handlers their leash or the keys to the car to motivate the owner to get to the training site sooner. We must be doing something right if they can't wait to train or work.
And unlike the dogs I meet around town, I've never known a neurotic working dog.

It has only made them better, more relaxed, more controlled, and happier dogs. Correctly trained bite sports make dogs MANY times less likely to bite a person, unlike average pet dogs, and with today’s training methods, is fun and fair to the dogs and not at all cruel. Stop banning good things and go after actually harmful things!
