Illinois can’t manage their current criminal court system, nor can they manage the prison system. This isn’t because they don’t have enough staff. It’s because the system is overwhelmed by the criminalization of black and brown people along with over sentencing them without giving them a second chance at life. My husband was 18 when he was sentenced to 65 years!!! He is not who he was at 28 years old. Science proves this, and his actions proves this! Give these men and women second chances Illinois!!!!!
