Over the last week of the new school year I can't help but see the amount of people being affected by the new lunch schedule. Now this wouldn't be such a big deal if there just weren't that many people being affected by it. However after just a week of school anyone can agree that it just isn't going to cut it, especially if this lasts all year. This petition isn't designed to strike a hit at LDHS, it isn't designed to make people frown upon LDHS, and it definitely isn't an attack at the administration department at LDHS as that would not achieve anything whatsoever. This petition was created for the soul factor that our lunches are not only too crowded but a prime example of exploitation of students, and this is the only way I see anything actually happening because of it. The admins have the power to make change so let's bring it up to them through this.

Now that LDHS has changed to a 3 lunch schedule instead of the 4 lunch schedule that we had previously, the lunches are absolutely and 100% terribly overcrowded. Any students that expect to make it to lunch and have more than 10 minute to eat their food at a safe rate should start hitting the track and prepare to be running to the cafeteria. The sheer amount of students in each lunch only allows for 5-10 minutes of eating time, that is, unless you are a part of the front of the line, roughly 2%. While you do get to eat and you do get free time if you bring your own lunch,roughly 30%, don’t exspec to do so comfortably. We just want our old lunches back. Not only is there 15minutes between each lunchtime there is a whole entire new period that quite frankly serves no purpose to the students other than time to catch up on the endless assignments we get. You would think that with 10 minutes added to the day and a new period you would have time to eat your food in peace.

On multiple occasions some kids were still in line after 30 minute of waiting, that's the whole lunch , and don't get me started on how bad the food is in general. This alone shows that no consideration was taken into the well being of the students during this time. When confronting one of the admins about the topic i was told "well, this is less chaotic than we thought it was going to be". Seriously, kids are in line for 30 minutes, pay 3 dollars for nachos as the whole meal, pay an extra dollar for water, and that's the response I get. That is ignorance and selfishness at its finest. 

We don't expect this to happen overnight but we expect to see some responsibility taken over the miscalculation of our new lunches. By signing this petition you are not only agreeing that this is ridiculous and a problem, but you are admitting to seeing anything above happen in person. Remember the cause, we are not attacking, ridiculing, or embarrassing the LDHS admins , we are bringing rise to the problem and letting the school know that we are entitled to eating time the same as any of the staff members, admins, janitors, and servicemen would be.

If we win this petition not only would we have more time to eat, we would be able to eat comfortably and to me that is a priority. Right.

 Please keep comments school appropriate and relevant to the cause, remember our cause and goals, another lunch is all. This isn't the time and place to discuss your hate for anyone at the school.
