It is barbaric and completely unacceptable to kill these beautiful animals. If anything needs controlling, it is we human beings who have multiplied beyond what is reasonable and have stolen, polluted and destroyed the habitats of all other creatures, which are going extinct in unprecedented numbers. According to recent research in the National Academy of Sciences, the total biomass of humans and their livestock is now 96% of all mammalian life on the planet. In other words, wild mammals are only 4% of total mammalian biomass. What an awful, appalling statistic. And still we're not satisfied with the dismantling of our planet's ecosystem that we have so successfully pursued, but must continue to destroy the little that remains. Stop killing these beautiful, intelligent, social animals. There is absolutely no reason to: foxes have a high natural mortality rate, and our cars and persecution already kill many thousands every year. Foxes are a natural part of this country's ecosystem (what remains of it) and have every right to exist. What is the matter with us that we choose to regard other animals as pests or nuisances, instead of admiring their qualities and learning to co-exist? Any small harms a fox can do to us, such as making holes in our lawns, are so trivial in comparison with the damage we do to them. We know and cherish our local foxes, and interacting with them gives us a huge amount of pleasure. Please let us co-exist with this beautiful animal and stop for ever this persecution!

I live in the countryside where the rabbit and rat population is now out of control because a large shooting estate kills all the foxes. The rabbits and rats now have no natural predator!! Stop killing foxes and let nature restore the balance!!

Are we not the problem? Animals were here on the land long before we built houses - where are they supposed to go? Culling wild animals here and culling wild animals in Africa and elsewhere in the world where we all stand up with so much uproar - what’s the difference? Animals do no harm to the earth they live respecting their space on earth we on the other hand are the most destructive species on the earth mainly concerned with power and money. Animals do not need our permission to live ! We should be grateful that there are foxes in our gardens ! I have many and they are the most beautiful creatures I have given mine names and they all know their names. If we reach out to animals then they will allow us to see their magical world. We should all learn to coexist with all other species we can’t go around killing just because we only want humans to be in specific areas. The earth is supporting 8+ Billion humans on earth and we want to kill few foxes because they are taking up space ! Are we not the problem?

I visited the sanctuary in January with family from Australia. It was ultra clean and the foxes obviously well cared for, with activities in the large pen. Like it or not, foxes are a vital part of the ecosystem and to close this rehabilitation centre because of one person complaining would be a travesty.

I feed two foxes who visit my garden everyday. I have been doing this for about 5 years. The foxes are mother and daughter. Lucy and Georgie. They are such wonderful animals and I didn’t even know about this sanctuary until I saw the news article. It will be very sad to see it go. They are building everywhere in my area (Warsash) causing foxes and other animals to loose their homes and safety and this sanctuary is a safe place for the foxes. If it does stay open, I will plan to visit it if it is open to the public. I love foxes and also support another fox sanctuary in America called save a fox. The neighbour who complained is an inconsiderate person who obviously doesn’t like wildlife. I hope to hear good news in the future

I feed the foxes in my local area, they don't hurt any pets as Ive seen them eating with the local cat happily plz dont shut down this safe haven for foxes they deserve to be treated like all wildlife, and they even do us a massive favour they help keep the rat population down

I fully support the request to keep this sanctuary open or at least give the sanctuary to relocate somewhere else. Foxes are given a bad name and my wife adores and feeds foxes and they need help desperately. Please let the sanctuary stay or move it to a better location . Perhaps money can be raised to help?
