Save Second Chance Fox Sanctuary from Closure

Save Second Chance Fox Sanctuary from Closure
The Issue
As an ardent animal advocate deeply engaging in various forms of activism, I am compelled to step in and address the impending closure of the Second Chance Fox Sanctuary. With habitats constantly being destroyed to make way for developments, many animals struggle to find a place to safely call home. They wander into roads, becoming victims of traffic and facing other life-threatening human interventions, disrupting fragile ecosystems.
The Second Chance Fox Sanctuary set up in 2023, nestled in the picturesque landscapes rented from Ashfield Estates in Hampshire, has been a beacon of hope for many displaced foxes and foxes that would be unable to be released back into the wild.
It's worth noting one of Ashfield Estates mission statements:
- "Creating space for wildlife"
The sanctuary provides wildlife (foxes) with space, safety, security, and a haven they can call home and "to lead the rest of their lives in safety and happiness".
Unfortunately, this sanctuary's invaluable work faces an abrupt end due to a decision driven by complaints from a new neighbour and his 'friend'. Ashfield Estates have decided to stop the lease of land which will therefore result in the closure of Second Chance Fox Sanctuary. Ashfield Estates hàve decided to stop the lease of land to the fox sanctuary from August 2025.
Operating with compassion and dedication, the sanctuary has become essential in preserving the lives and promoting the well-being of its resident foxes. The potential closure triggered by such individual's grievances threatens to dismantle years of hard work and puts the lives of many foxes at risk.
We earnestly appeal to the decision-maker at Ashfield Partnership/Estates to reconsider and overturn the decision to terminate the lease of the sanctuary's land and for the sanctuary's invaluable work to continue. Reversing this decision will allow the sanctuary to continue its irreplaceable work of offering a second chance at life to these vulnerable animals.
Please join us in advocating for the right of these foxes to live safely and peacefully by signing this petition. Please also use your voice to let "the unspeakable" know this type of behaviour is not acceptable. Your support can ensure that the Second Chance Fox Sanctuary remains a sanctuary in every sense of the word.
Thank you so much, love the animals.
