Fireworks noise is a prominent issue affecting communities worldwide. The loud and sudden sounds of fireworks can be distressing for individuals with sensory sensitivities, pets, and wildlife. Recent trends show an increase in petitions calling for restrictions on fireworks usage to minimize noise pollution and protect vulnerable populations.
Petitions highlight the impact of fireworks noise on mental health and well-being, urging authorities to implement regulations for quieter and more controlled displays. One petition, with thousands of signatures, demands a ban on private fireworks due to the disruptive nature of the noise on communities.
Join the movement to address fireworks noise by supporting petitions that advocate for responsible fireworks use and consideration for those affected. Your involvement can contribute to creating a more peaceful environment and safeguarding the welfare of all residents.

Fireworks aren't compatible with animals and nature. They frighten millions of animal every July. It would be heartbreaking if the eagle family or any family in the wild is forced to listen to ear shattering, stupid fireworks with no one to comfort them. Please ban them at BB Lake at least.
I actually was shocked to hear that a firework show was happening in the first place in Big Bear. Between the wildlife, and fire risk, this just seems outdated. We have to begin considering nature, even if it means a little less excitement.
There are other ways to celebrate the 4th of July, and with our national bird being a Bald Eagle, we can start by protecting those that call Big Bear home.
Please show your support for your well-known resident bald eagles and their young offspring (our national bird) , along with other wildlife of the Big Bear area, by not setting off fireworks this year. I saw how alarmed Jackie and Shadow were by two loud daytime gunshots earlier this season, and I am very concerned about how they (and their two fledglings) might respond to sustained fireworks at night. I urge you to forego the fireworks and celebrate in other ways that do not endanger their wellbeing. Thank you!
