This issue should be of extreme importance and concern for any parent with a child with disabilities. The state and services taking away a child from a parent is outrageous and unacceptable.
I'm a disabled adult Medicaid recipient in Tennessee. I've been documenting how Tennessee State Medicaid program and various other arms of government violate my rights. The discrimination, abuse, neglect, and exploitation of disabled adults by state agencies is sadly very real and widespread. I don't think it's going to stop until citizens get involved and invest in a world where disabled adults get to have human rights. We need attorneys. We need litigation. We need there to be accountability and consequences. It's a sad sorry state of affairs where in desperation people have to rely on a change.org page to try to get people to pitch in. What's required to enact real change requires a higher level of commitment and involvement. Your support is needed here and elsewhere.
