I’m a mother, and all my kids grew up playing hockey. It’s disturbing to see how false accusations can ruin young men’s lives with no consequences. This trial was a circus, and my heart goes out to these players. I hope they can return to their careers soon — they deserve that chance.
I no longer trust the news because of how this has been handled and I know I am not alone. What has been allowed to happen to these players is not only an injustice to them. It is a betrayal of Canadian values. We must demand better, for them and for the future of our country. I wish you well with this petition and I will be sending it on to all of my friends.
Thank you for starting this petition and thank you to everyone signing it. It is so sad what is continuing to happen to each of these players after being found not guilty. As an advocate for both men and women across Canada who have been or are going thru a false allegation, I’m happy to stand with each of these men.
My wife and I attended each day of the trial and heard the evidence first hand, the correct decision was made in this case. Sexual assaults do happen and we stand with those women (and men) who have been a victim. The victims in this case was each of these 5 men.
A false claim ruins things for actual victims.
