C/O 2019. Bo was the first person to make me feel like she believed in me and valued my voice. She cast me in two roles I never thought I could play and trusted me to lead her club as one of the officers.
There is no one I feel deserves this more after countless days fighting for it and her students. She was an incredible teacher and an even better friend.
Brandi , my daughter gave all she could to her family , friends and students. She dreamed the new PERFORMANCE theater into existence . It was her dream for the Children of Lexington Community. When you walk into the theater 🎭 , you can see , touch and feel Brandi’s visions. These are just a few reasons that the theater should be renamed in my daughter’s memory and honor.
Mrs Bo changed my life. Every time I try anything new, or decide to be myself. Or even just believe in myself her legacy lives on. Theatre helped me through some of my toughest times in my adolescence. As a former alumni I believe it’s only right to name the performing arts theatre in her honor.
She was an amazing teacher. I fell out with theater back in elementary school, i just thought it wasn’t for me anymore, but as soon as I walked into her class room I knew I belonged there, she helped me find my love for theatre again, she listened to me when I cried and when I was having a bad day and she made it all better. She would tell me everything was going to be okay and that she was there for me and that I was doing amazing, and I was going to do amazing things in life. She made me feel so welcomed and that everything was going to be okay. BOPAC !!
BO was the first teacher going into high school that i connected with in theatre 1. though our time together wasnt long and we never stayed super close, she was passionate, kind, genuine, and was always looking out in the best interest of her students. the performing art center at white knoll high school will truly feel dull without BO, with how bright she was. i truly believe renaming the performing arts center in her memory would touch many hearts.
I was a WK student ('23) when this space was constructed and opened. I had the honor of working with Bo to bring this space to life with incredible student productions during my senior year. It's certainly an incredible facility, but the student art put to stage there by Bo gave it heart. This is an incredible way to memorialize a beloved member of our community as well as acknowledge the power of art in our schools.
Bo was such an amazing person inside and out. She was the greatest example of acceptance in all aspects. Her program was based on building up her students not her. She strived to show unconditionally love and acceptance. She brought out confidence in students. She help flourish some of the best performances by allowing her students to openly create and perform. My daughter had 4 years with her and she will tell you drama/theater with Bo was the highlight of her day. Bo was that safe space. That encouragement. That understanding that students needed. Such an amazing soul gone way too soon.

She was the kind of teacher Hollywood makes movies about… few people that ever encountered her didn’t have their life touched in some way by the privilege of knowing her, working with her, or being taught by her… Or even just having a random conversation with her somewhere. She’s one of those quiet (though outspoken) heroes that nobody ever hears about yet has lived a top shelf kind of life and given of herself at a level a few mere immortals ever will. She deserves to be remembered more than most of us.
If you never knew her, you need to stop in for a second and consider taking the word of those of us who knew her.
