Every year my dog is terrified to leave her bed once fireworks start. Especially terrified to go back outside after fireworks occur. It impacts her severely, and we hate to see her in pure fear.
It’s especially awful when someone sets fireworks off during the day. I will never know when it happens, but once it does, my dog will try running back home to hide in her bed. Nothing can comfort her, and it’s really not necessary for random people to set fireworks off anywhere they want.
Two of our sweet retired racing greyhounds were traumatized by fireworks. We lost one of them, O’Riley, to a firework stress related incident after Canada Day neighbourhood fireworks. The trauma both of our dogs experienced was not humane. The fireworks available to the general public are just too powerful to be used in residential neighbourhoods.
I worked as an animal care technician for 36 years. I know there are many new ways to improve animal health that vets do not do or have never been trained to do. Things need to change. The old fashioned monopoly on pet care needs to be updated !
Many people are willing to adopt a animal instead of pet stores or breeders. Killing them is horrible. I rescue cats dropped of at the edge of Ponoka. There are many each year . I almost always find them homes . I see first hand what homeless animals experience and there are ways to help . I do it and I am not sending any to their death.
Pets are family. they should never be considered to be part of an estate. Rocco is Aliesha's family, he should not be with her late partner's sister. this is insane. Rocco is hers!
Rocco deserves to be with his mother. For him to be ripped away from her after he lost his dad is cruel. How could someone be so selfish to take away a happy dog from his home?
My pitty is my whole life. If someone took her from me I would absolutely be devastated especially if I had got her with a loved one who had passed. It would inflict irreparable emotional damage to my psyche.
This is heartbreaking. This baby belongs with his mom. Taking his away would bring confusion and heartbreak to the animal as well. The family who’s doing this is not thinking this way. Do the right thing! Let him stay with his mom.
I lost my foster pittie who I fought tooth and nail for. As a result of the orginal persons negligence, she ended up very sick and euthanized. Then i had to fight tooth and nail just for some of her ashes. She got ripped away from a good and loving home, just because she was viewed as property. Dogs are NOT property. You would not view a child as property, so don't view animals as property either. It's not right to them, and it does cost them their lives at times.
